35 years since fall of Saigon

It was 35 years ago. On April 29 the US left. On April 30 the capital was taken.

I just got an e-mail from a guy who was in the Navy (electronic warfare technician & aircrew) and was there to see the fall of Saigon.

He spent two years in the Navy, saw people killed, was shot at, and more. Today, he is "bummed for so many reasons".

Politics and right/wrong aside, what can I say to him?

Don''t know where to post this -- it seemed to fit best here.

uh....While it''s ok to remember and take a moment of silence, it''s not ok to continue to dwell on something that happened 35 years ago, regardless of how horrific it was. I don''t think you need to tell him to do anything necessarily, just say I''m sorry you''re having a bad day?
