Hi all,
I’m having a ring custom designed with a ton of pave. I will attach a photo. I am trying to decide if for stone safety 14k white gold or platinum would be the best option. I want this to have a vintage, old world look, so if I went with white gold I think unplated would be best.

Pretty ring, @sunflowerstate ! Reminds me of Bella’s ring in Twilight. I would go with unplated 18k WG, but it also depends on your stones’ color. Platinum will be super white versus unplated WG which would have an “antique“ look about it. Not sure about which metal would be safer though. Pave stones will always have a tendency to fall out when not properly set and worn daily.

The durability factor for strength would be to go with the platinum. The antique look would be to go with the undipped white gold, but it's pave, you take your chances either way. For the look, I'd say go with the non rhodium white gold.
