That is very cool. What kind of UV emitter are you using? This is common in some other types of gemstones (tenebresecent scapolite, sodalite, hackmanite) but requires a pretty strong UV activation, and can be particular to a particular wavelength. My scapolite won't charge with a little led UV, but w... |

Re: old cut ladies willing to help me look for a beauty?
This is a long shot, but before Leon Mege relaunched his website, there was an old cut that was a very low color, maybe an O or P in a Leon halo setting for a very reasonable cost. I think at one point Maisie was considering it for her upgrade. I don't see it listed now, but it was a lovely stone in... |

Re: How rare is a MRB O?
I would check with Infinity Diamonds and Brian Gavin Diamonds. I have a 2 carat L/SI1 BGD Blue and it's gorgeous. It actually faces up white though-if you go for a super ideal cut they're going to face up pretty white even in lower colors. Ditto, Infinity often has low color stones in their ideal c... |

mercoledi - The link didn't work for me. Can you post again? The DB site has been down most of today, I think that's what it is. Re: Help Me Find A Great Diamond Band For Cheap!
$575 http://diamondbistro.com/index.php?a=2&b=33484 and would have to be reshanked to get it up to a size 8, so probably at least $700 all together if you found a cheap bench to resize it. There are a few things within budget on ebay, but with lousy photos,so it would be a big risk. |

Re: Compare 2 GIAs. What you pick is what I buy. Please Help
In all honesty, it's impossible for any of us to know. Re: Too Many Choices....halp!
Since you mentioned a love of cushions and halos, I thought I'd throw this one out there. It's a branded cushion, smaller than what you're looking at, but it's A LOT of ring. The DAUSSI CUSHION CUT HALO RING about 4 down: http://jewelsbyericagrace.com/modern_and_estate_rings_page_2 |

Re: Compare 2 GIAs. What you pick is what I buy. Please Help
I'm not an expert, but short of being able to see both stones together in person I'd pick the GIA 2136284273 1.08ct. It will appear much larger (.1-.2mm!) and I prefer stones with smaller tables. |

Re: Shopping for RB and setting - Looking for advice
Personally I wouldn't. This is a 60/60 stone (60% table, 60% depth). A lot of commercial stones are cut to these proportions because it maximizes yield from the rough, but the vast majority do not perform as well as ideal cut stones. The only one I've seen in person is my friend's husband's 4mm platinum, and it is so elegant that it hurts! Based on that I'd say the 3mm platinum for a woman, Have fun at the Tiff's in Heathrow, but they do have kinda limited stock so you may not get to choose among all 4 in your size. |
