Re: What bag are you carrying

I usually carry totes that can fit laptops etc for work. Today I have my black Ralph Lauren Tote, kinda boring, but a good-looking staple.

Re: Time from acquiring a ring till the proposal?

1 hour! He actually proposed without a ring, and we went ring shopping the following weekend. From the time I choose the diamond and setting, we waited 1 hour for the ring to be set (while we watched) and the minute I got into the car, he dropped on one knee in the parking lot, re-proposed and put t...

Re: Favorite cheeses!!

I love cheese too. Weekend lunches are often just cheese and great loaf of bread. My favorites: Port salut Double cream brie Goat cheese with blueberry Smoked gouda Sharp cheddar. Shredded 4 cheese blends, sliced cheddar, feta, parmesan, are staples in the house and go on everything. I don't eat pro...

Re: Proposing with just a diamond

Maybe it's because I was proposed to in my early '30s, when most people have outgrown princess fantasies and are thinking in practical terms. The man proposed to me without a diamond or a ring. I said yes, and then we picked out the ring, together. I don't see anything wrong with that. Neither of u...

Pet Peeve: Tabloid e-ring guestimates

Does it drive you mad when a tabloid writer clearly doesn't know anything about diamonds? They throw out random numbers, gets the shape wrong, or the most frustrating thing is not know the difference between carats and karat.

Here is any example of Lauren Conrad's "3-carat honker".

Re: Post your 7 and 9 stone rings!

My 7-stone is 0.71 tcw, F-G stone is about 10 pt (all ideal cut). I got it from the Facets collection of Signed Pieces years ago. I like the 10 pointers because the band is substantial enough to wear on it's own.

My solitaire is 1.81 ct, and both rings are sized 5.5

Re: What is your favorite fish for eating?

I like fish with lots of fish oil, and has intense flavor.....mackerel, sardines, salmon etc. My hubby and kids like non-flavorful fish such as cod, halibut and tilapia. We end up eating tilapia the most due to low cost, and commonly found in standard American supermarkets.

Re: Need some car input--do you drive any of these vehicles?

My husband's current work vehicle is a 2013 Ford Escape. I think it's a cute little vehicle, the engine is pretty sound, although it's only 1.5 years old....but little things are falling apart already! The back covering of the right mirror just disappeared one day (nothing ever hit it to our knowled...

Re: Poll:do you think this is weird? Sibling names

I find it VERY annoying when people do 'cute' things with names, like Phrank. "But our son is so unique and special we just CAN'T spell his name like all those ordinary Franks." Considering the teasing the kids will face some of the names border on abuse. If the names of everyone i...

Re: WWYD? Advice needed re: 9 year old son

Does your son have friend(s) that he is close to? Does he talk about any of the kids more than others? I would encourage those friendships that he already has, and not try to help him make more friends, because I've begun to see that friendships are like romantic relationships, and they can't be for...

Re: Do you believe there is a right and left sock?

This is the first I heard of there being a left and right sock. Actually, it makes sense since the feet are not the same. I've never seen them for sale. Re: Do you believe there is a right and left sock?
