Re: Vent - Teen's first job disasterous

Unfortunately, others are right. This is a glimpse into reality. I do agree though that you should ALWAYS call a supervisor when you're going to be out. I understand that for some, texting may be acceptable, but as a new employee at a first time job, she should try to do that. Good luck to you all!

Re: Things to do in San Francisco?

The Ghiradelli factory and the art museum were two of my favorite attractions. I haven't been in years, so I won't try to recommend food.

Re: Things That BUG You That Don't Seem To Bother Anyone Els

Loose hair.

When my jewelry is dirty.

When people don't pre-bus when we go to eat together.

When my own jewelry hits the desk constantly (It bothers me b/c I think it's bothering others and it isn't).

When people complain about horse trailers on the road. Major major pet peeve.

Gum popping.

Re: Fragrance of the Day Thread

This week is a Caron Tabac Blond week. It may just become my signature from now on, since I'm trying to feel more emboldened at my new job.

Re: A Book(s) Thread

To add,
I am currently working on the second to last in the Outlander Series, as well as a re-read of The Three Musketeers. I plan to follow that up with Atlas Shrugged and The Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe.

Re: A Book(s) Thread

AGBF I totally missed that quiz and am very honored to think you thought of me. Sadly I only got 49 on the rendition it gave me. I am actually in the midst of making myself a "You should have read this by now" list. The past four years have left a lot to be desired in terms of my reading c...

Re: Vent/Rage of the day thread

I got a job this week, my first salary based job, at a very prestigious construction company in FL. Well, apparently a friend's relative was also being considered. Tonight, my supposed friend had the audacity to suggest that I should take a part time job she knew about that paid "cash" und...

Re: Psycho in the Family

I don't know what to say, other than she needs to get out, and her family should be on her side, not his. The threats against her mother and the arm twisting are grounds for restraining orders and action in court for custody, as would the meals and pushing her out of the house. I offer my prayer and...

Re: Husband - functioning alcoholic - what to do?

I don't have a lot to offer. I have an uncle and an aunt who have both been functioning alcoholics in the past, and who recently both had very severe health scares that made them stop. That isn't very helpful I know. I wanted to offer a bit of moral support though. You're awesome for recognizing tha...

Re: Favourite flowers?

Oh Gosh there are so many. I keep white and blush pink roses, I am a sucker for roses. I love growing lavender. It's pretty and smells good. I keep bee balm, which has a cool violet colored bloom, and the bees love it. I like ornamental sages, we keep purple ones. Again, they are a bee attractor. Pe...

It's great to see you, dragonfly ! I had no idea what you were up to. Everything looks absolutely idyllic. Congratulations on the birth of your son. Missy, I'm glad they made you smile! I'm glad to see you all! I'm hoping I can do some catching up reading tonight. I tried last night but the nugget went down later than usual, so it was a bit limited. I'm off to work for now!

I missed you too! And everyone else! I'll be in regularly now that I'm getting more settled into the routine. It's busy and exhausting, but I love it all. Wyatt is a joy, and such a great baby. I'll have to share more of him too lol.

What a difference a year has made!

It hit me the other day that it has been nearly a year since I've visited you guys, and it made me sad. I feel like it is time for me to pick back up some and catch up with everyone. I've missed you all! We've really done a lot in the past year. Wyatt is 10 months old. That's right, I am about to ha...
