Re: Show your halos with 0.5 pointer melee!

My halo is half-pointers and I wouldn't want it any bigger. My center stone is 1.6 cts, size 5.75 finger.

Re: Diamond size vs social circle

My ring is on the smaller side among my husband's friends/coworkers, average among my friends, but the largest by far at work. I've definitely gotten comments from coworkers about having "a huge rock." I"m comfortable with the size (most of the time) and usually tend to downplay the s...

Re: What size eternity band with a ~1.4 carat solitaire

I'd go for less than 10-pointers too, probably 5-6 points at most, but I agree that you should go try and see what appeals to you the most.

Re: Leon, Steven or Victor for my double halo fancy yellow?

I think working with someone locally has huge advantages. Any maintenance you'll need in the future is much easier to do without having to deal with shipping your ring across the country. I have a SK ring and absolutely love and really appreciated being able to see it in person while he was working ...

Re: Does anyone dismiss halos?

They've definitely grown on me. When I got engaged 8 years ago, the halo trend was just taking off both on PS and in real life and I didn't like the idea of a halo for an ER at the time. But as they became more popular, the differences in quality and style among them became really apparent. I've see...

Re: ERD vs BGD

I got quotes from Steven, Victor and ERD (handforged) about 4 months ago and ERD was the least expensive one while VC was the most , about 10% more than SK. Steven's work (which is what i went with) really is outstanding.

Re: POLL: your stone compared to your friends?

Stones among my close friends really vary, anywhere from .5 to 2.5 carats. Mine is about average at 1.6 but there is quite a range.

Re: Paging Skippy and any other parents of multiples

I didn't feel any movement until 17 weeks and then for the first couple of weeks it was only about once a week. My mother thought I was crazy to feel anything that early so I didn't even know it was possible at 12 weeks! Definitely wouldn't worry about it being infrequent in the near future. Kunzite...

Re: Discomfort because (perfect) ring feels "too flashy"...h

Congrats on your engagement, Tabby! Yes, I suspect the longer you wear the ring the more normal and less flashy it'll seem (I wouldn't advise getting it dirty to reduce the flash though). Once you get used to it, you'll probably feel a lot less self-conscious about it but you are not responsible for...

Re: Halos - do most people get them to enhance a diamond or

I switched to a halo because I wanted a more intricate and interesting setting and really liked the look of a well-made halo. I have a very delicate halo but it still makes the center stone look huge even though it wasn't my goal necessarily.

Re: Paging Skippy and any other parents of multiples

Hi Pave, Yay on the movement, that's really exciting! Sorry, I don't remember exactly when I had the glucose test but around 24 weeks sounds about right. I only did the initial one since my glucose was not an issue but generally you're right that GD is more likely with twins. I did have anemia thoug...

Re: Paging Skippy and any other parents of multiples

Congrats on your twin pregnancy! Yes it's terrifying at times so hang in there! My twins are now 4 (where did the time go?) but if I could give one piece of advice for both pregnancy and the early months, it would be to try and accept that you may have much less control over the situation and not to...
