I'd go for less than 10-pointers too, probably 5-6 points at most, but I agree that you should go try and see what appeals to you the most. |

I think working with someone locally has huge advantages. Any maintenance you'll need in the future is much easier to do without having to deal with shipping your ring across the country. I have a SK ring and absolutely love and really appreciated being able to see it in person while he was working ... |

I got quotes from Steven, Victor and ERD (handforged) about 4 months ago and ERD was the least expensive one while VC was the most , about 10% more than SK. Steven's work (which is what i went with) really is outstanding. |

Stones among my close friends really vary, anywhere from .5 to 2.5 carats. Mine is about average at 1.6 but there is quite a range. |

I didn't feel any movement until 17 weeks and then for the first couple of weeks it was only about once a week. My mother thought I was crazy to feel anything that early so I didn't even know it was possible at 12 weeks! Definitely wouldn't worry about it being infrequent in the near future. Kunzite... |

Congrats on your engagement, Tabby! Yes, I suspect the longer you wear the ring the more normal and less flashy it'll seem (I wouldn't advise getting it dirty to reduce the flash though). I switched to a halo because I wanted a more intricate and interesting setting and really liked the look of a well-made halo. I have a very delicate halo but it still makes the center stone look huge even though it wasn't my goal necessarily. |
