Re: Help me pick! Which Radiant looks nicer?

Late to the party, but I like the one on the left. I'm very fond of radiants.

Re: At what age does the usual kid no longer need a baby sit

Our children are 8, 10, 14, and 16.5 years old. It's only been a year since we started letting the older two watch the younger two while we go out to dinner for a couple of hours.

Re: Trade members: Show us your fav red, white or blue piece

My personal all time favorite we did was the Deco Empire, but I posted that in another thread, so I'm going with my favorite blue stone ring. We did this ring for a client using a Chatham sapphire center. What I like about it is that at the 9 and 3 o'clock position there are pear cut diamonds instea...

Re: How noisy is your family/home?

My home is typically pretty quiet, for having four children. That is until the littlest ones start a fight (they're 8 and 10, 14 and 16). We're at a playdate this afternoon, and I can't wait to leave because the little boy is sooooooooo loud. I actually have a headache. :p

Re: Moissanite and Asha (manmade) diamond vs real diamonds

While regular moissanites are much more scratch resistant than a lot of other non-diamond alternatives, it is a brittle stone and can chip without proper care. Years ago, I had a shared bar prong eternity band that wound with a broken stone and two internally shattered ones, just from dropping it in...

Re: A $35K ring or a $35K car?

This is a really hard choice for me to make. If the option was put to me and the same option to my husband (each of us offered $35k to do what we want with), I know he would go for the car as we need to get him a new Jeep by the end of summer. As long as his daily commuter vehicle was taken care of,...

Re: Scenes from JCK 2014

The absolute highlight of my experience was the very last night we were there. Nothing fancy, just a quiet evening spent with Peter Yantzer, Andre and Linh, John Pollard, Brian Pollard, Lieve Peters, and Wink. It felt like my christening into the world of diamonds. I didn't save any photographic ev...

Re: Scenes from JCK 2014

Names withheld to protect the innocent. :naughty: Teasing aside, I met so many people and am HORRIBLE with names. I will remember faces and jewelery, even stock numbers, but names I am seriously bad at. The absolute highlight of my experience was the very last night we were there. Nothing fancy, jus...

Re: Scenes from JCK 2014

This was my first PS/JCK trip to Vegas, and WOW, what a blast! You can spend an entire week there, and still not get to see half of what the show has to offer. The information gleaned from the educational sessions is invaluable, and well worth the trip just for the learning. Then there's the whole m...

Re: GIA report shows two chips in Emerald Cut... Big Deal?

This is just my personal opinion , and not a professional one: chips and indented naturals are deal breakers for me. Just knowing there's an area that I can feel with my nail would drive me nuts, and if it's on the girdle I'd be constantly seeking it out with my nail. Where are the chips located?

Re: Beautiful 5 carat diamond ring, but is Q colour a mistak

We recently bought a beautiful champagne coloured round cut 5.03 carat diamond, VVS2 clarity and Q on the colour scale. My wife designed the split ring setting which was finished in white gold with 40 small diamonds adding sparkle to the arms. Needless to say, we were delighted by the result! Durin...

Re: BB or CC cream recommendations?

I know I'm late to the party, but I'll be 45 in a few months (August 1st), and I think my skin has fared pretty well thanks to the L'Oreal products I use. I swear by their CC cream! I've used their Regenerist line for years, and switched to the CC cream about a year ago. I love it because it gives a...

Re: New diamond concerned about h showing vanilla in certain

Radiants can be almost chameleon like in their ability to pick up color from their surroundings, and will look different depending on the lighting they are in, the color of the walls, the color of the sky if you're outside, the trees, etc. It's one of my favorite traits about them. I'd personally en...
