Re: My daughter is in labor, new grandbaby late tonight?

Probably the best memory I have of being in hospital after giving birth was after Kimberly was born, and my parents came late the next morning. I will never forget the site of my father, hands clasped behind his back, peering into the basinnette, feet shifting back and forth as he kept looking back ...

Re: Ring upgade - Custom Verragio with heart diamond

Beautiful ring! I love how the two little hearts on the profile reflect the center stone, and the focus truly is on the center. Gorgeous!!! :appl:

Re: Wearing gold and platinum rings together?

My engagement ring is 18kwg Vatche "Grace", and my band is a platinum channel set eternity band. I haven't noticed any excessive scratching on either ring, although the plating on my e-ring could use to be refreshed (I wear my rings constantly, live on a horse farm, have 4 kids and 3 dogs....

Re: do you/can you love inclusions?

Small inclusions (as long as they're not black glop) don't bother me. As a matter of fact, I prefer my diamond to have a little "birthmark" I can see with my loupe. I love all different colors, but typically prefer the I-M range. I adore fluorescence. The big deal breaker for me is an inde...

Re: PLEASE CHECK IN !!!

As if losing power and TV wasn't bad enough, woke this morning to no cell signal and no house phone. We've got the house phone back, but we're having to ration the gas in the generator. That means we only put it on for about an hour at a time, turn it off for 4-6 hours, and then turn it back on. Tha...

Re: PLEASE CHECK IN !!!

I'm in northwestern NJ, about 60 miles from NYC. The winds are still gusting, and sustained around 30 MPH. We get a break from the noise for about five to fifteen minutes, and then the howling wind gusts return. We are still getting waves of pounding rain. The rain has been battering us for countles...

Hey, August in MD can be tricky. That's the beginning of hurricane season. May or June would actually be better timing as those months are pretty warm on the East coast.

Re: Being a brat… VENT!

Your ring is just gorgeous!!!

Just out of curiosity..you've got the ring, you already know when you want to get married. What's the holdup on getting engaged? The engagement just means you've decided to get married. Why not let your intentions be known by wearing that gorgeous ring?

Re: Oh No!!! Can my new channel ring be resized???

A size to 1.5 sizes, no problem and it will be virtually round if done carefully. Larger is easier than smaller with this style of setting. I have to concur with Oldminer in that going up from a 7.5 to an 8.75 should not be an issue with this ring, especially since it is bead set, not channel set. ...

Re: IS THIS AS UNCOMMON AND BEAUTIFUL AS I THINK IT IS?

That middle band is just stunning, and the three together as one ring looks beautiful and comfortable. You can most likely have them soldiered together to prevent damage, but doubtful that you can make the rings thinner. They look pretty delicate as it is.

Re: Beautiful 1940s RB ring...Should we buy it??

You don't say what carat weight it is, but I'm presuming it's over 2 with that mm size. Do you love it? Is it your dream ring? Then go for it! Just be sure to check what the return policy is, and get it appraised right away.

I believe I do. I don't even want to dwell on the details because it's just too draining. Re: Need help/advice on OEC five stone ring

Please do not take this as an insult as it is not meant to be. You bought a vintage ring off Ebay; does the color and clarity line up with the vendor's description? Re: Should I resize my ring?

There is a big difference between a 5.25 and a 5.5 to the wearer, especially with thin (2mm and under) shanks. A size 7 is my comfort size as my fingers range between 6.5 in the cold of winter and a 7 in the summer. A 7.25 literally falls off my hand, even with a 3.5mm shank. A quarter size makes a ...

Re: Anyone else into American Muscle cars?

No cal-induction scoop crap here! We're going for as original as possible, except we're doing a disc brake conversion for safety. OMG the brown one looks like the '72 we just sold! The next project is a '72 Z28. Hubby is a first and second generation Camaro nut, and our family currently has one '72 hardtop on a spit, and a '68 convertible in the house garage. Re: Desperate for advice in choosing between these 2 setting

I have to agree...the classic solitaire with a diamond band is so beautiful, plus you have the ability to use an insert ring guard when you want to dress it up, use just about any band with it, put matching bands one on either side, etc.
