Re: Road To Morogoro

I am wondering how delicate rings survive modern lifestyles. The gold weight in this ring is 7.96 grams, and I think it is just the right dimensions for stability. I see that so many rings are only around 2 grams including the stones! are rings in lower karatage so much stronger?

Re: Need Advice for 8 Carat Unheated Sapphire Gem

Since you can't see the inclusion from the front it wouldn't bother me. However, I can't see into the stone really at all from the front, and the photo looks to have been very strongly lit. I would send it back for that alone.

Road To Morogoro

Morogoro Spinel, cut by Gene Flanigan. 20kt gold, copperless alloy, slightly greenish. It is SO's birthday.I've been making this ring on the sly for two weeks. Had to get friends of ours to take her on a road trip for a day to get a block of time to finish. Managed even to make the box! Now you shou...

Re: I need a mahenge spinel (its all your fault so please he

I am totally unimpressed by these. Please wait. Look at many stones and get totally educated before you buy. That is what you are here for anyway, right? Since you already missed the Mahenge boat by a few years you dont have to jump at the first stone you see that is advertized with the buzzword. Sa...

Ok, I know I am the last person you would expect to contribute to this thread. And before we go any further I do not play. However, a few years ago I decided to start learning lutherie. Re: Is this a Garnet? Help needed to find similar stone.

IT is a pretty stone! CP&MG, the colors of the stone in the first, and third of your pics are reddish pink, and pinkish red, and in your second pic it is purple pink. The colors in your pictures don't match and you yourself say they do not match the stone in real life. That is why people are ask...

Re: Buying Rubies in Myanmar - need help

I have to say, don't go. Definitely get your graduate gemologist degree first. Then take a vacation. Consider ...

Re: Check out this large, untreated blue sapphire ring!

while it says sold it also says that it was "acquired by one of our retail partners". There is a button to click on to inquire about the item, and likely be put in touch with the retailer.
