Ok, I've selected a setting (platinum cathedral). Now comes the hard part…selecting the diamond. I've got it narrowed down to those listed below. These are all the specs I have to go on. I don't have access to Ideal-scope, etc. and cannot see the actual diamond. I will view the actual certificate before purchasing.

I have to make my decision based on these specs and then can take advantage of the 30-day return policy if I don't like the finished product. "Premium" cut is what Mondera calls something between Very Good and Ideal. Symmetry and polish are all comparable on these, so I did not list those. These all fall within the budget, so I'm not as concerned about the price.

Please help me choose!!!

1.26ct, Premium cut, F color, VS1, 6.07x5.91x4.12, depth 69.7, table 67…price $8173
1.27ct, Very Good cut, G color, VVS2, 5.82x5.75x4.29, depth 74.6, table 72…price $8392
1.27ct, Very Good cut, G color, VS1, 5.90x5.86x4.39, depth 74.9, table 74…price $7229
1.27ct, Very Good cut, G color, VS1, 5.78x5.77x4.43, depth 76.8, table 76…price $7229
1.32ct, Premium cut, G color, VS1, 5.96x5.76x4.29, depth 74.5, table 73…price $8078
1.32ct, Premium cut, G color, VS1, 5.96x5.83x4.34, depth 74.4, table 72…price $8078
1.36ct, Premium cut, G color, VVS2, 6.00x5.98x4.52, depth 75.6, table 74…price $8477

THANK YOU!

princess cuts are just too hard to judge on #''s alone. that said, i''d at least focus on premium cut.

Hi Hinese,

I agree with Belle. I''m no expert on Princess cuts but most here are going to say they need more info to help you. also, you might want to try to narrow it down to two or three

I agree with focusing only on Premium cut and narrowing it down to two or three. Were there not any rated "ideal" that fell within your budget? I would try getting info on those as well. Many times when sites label certain stones as "ideal" AND if the stone is in house, they provide information above just table and depth percentages. This would assist more, particularly for a princess!

Don't know your budget but check these out...

Seems like there are tons more options with much more info at your disposal. Personally, I would not play russion roulette with my money.

Edited to fix a typo.

That is still a lot of choices. I believe I''ve now narrowed it down to these:

1.26ct, Premium cut, F color, VS1, 6.07x5.91x4.12, depth 69.7, table 67…price $8173
1.36ct, Premium cut, G color, VVS2, 6.00x5.98x4.52, depth 75.6, table 74…price $8477

I like the first one because of the depth and table. I haven''t seen many princess cuts on the internet in the 60''s. However, is the 4.12mm too shallow? I don''t want the diamond to look too small when viewed from the side.

I like the second one because it is .10 larger than the first. Is that a very noticeable difference at this size?

Hinese it is alot of choices but I wanted to show you that there are other excellent vendors who provide more than just depth/table %. You cannot make a well informed decision with just those two pieces of info. Goodluck on your search!
