I bought this at auction, here is the AIG retail replacement value sheet, listed at $16K. I'm sure its inflated but I got this under $3k. Hope its at least a fair deal. Any advise or opinions?

EDIT:
Sorry the pic is so small. Not sure what happened. Tried resizing but doesnt work. Can you look it up by appraisal #? 019913240011

The appraisal is definitely grossly over-inflated. I wouldn't say you got a deal for $3K but paid a fair price. The breakdown is around $1K for the tanzanite (because it is slightly included and the saturation is medium) and the rest is for the setting (has some I colour and SI2 melees). I am basing my answer purely on the description of the appraisal and nothing else, presuming that it is accurate.

I can probably buy the same thing for around $2,500-3,000 so you didn't get a deal but you certainly paid a reasonable price. The estimate is absolute rubbish I'm afraid.

Surprising to see they said the stone was "slightly greyish."
