Shallow fancy cut diamonds-problems??

What are the potential problems for a very shallow cut diamond in a fancy cut ? I read that they can chip easily- is this true? What are other issues? Obviously sparkle would likely be diminshed- but are there other issues that would effect longevity of the diamond? I may also add it is a fancy colored diamond which is the only reason I'm considering it.
