Actually it was from a British jewelry site. I was searching for a vintage/antique inspiration for my larger oval demantoid and came across this Victorian ring photo. I loved the design so much I decided to buy three demantoids to set into a replica of this ring. You know the rest of the story...I didn''t get around to it until now! So the ring design actually pre-dates the three demantoids.

So first I was cursing Wink for making me nearly break a nail from ripping through a gazillion FexEx boxes to get to the ring.

And then...damn...there it was.

The stones are so BRIGHT under the office light, within the crescents and framed with teeny pinpoint diamonds. It''s weird; I ''''m totally not used to wearing anything that noticable on my hand. My usual RHR is an OMC, and sometimes it gets swapped out with a moonstone or jade, so the demantoids just look so flashy!

In person, the head is also not "too" high to be annoying. I do think the setting loses detail by being in plat as opposed to yellow gold, and maybe someone on PS will replicate the acutal ring in it''s full glory, but yellow gold just wasn''t going to work for me at all. So I''m thrilled.

I can''t wait to get home and take pictures for all you guys!

LOL! I am supposed to take out the little white strip that allows you to open the Fedex box without a blow torch, but I KNEW that would get me in serious trouble with you being at work and all...

I agree that you lose some of the metal detail by having it in white rather than yellow to contrast those incredible demantoids, but they are so bright no one is going to be looking at the metal any way.

Wahhhh!!! I actually have to be here a bit late tonight so I don''t know yet.

I did just go to Starbuck''s, as an excuse to see the ring in natural light.

I definitely prefer it in natural light to this office light. It''s so blingy here, and the flashes are so sharp, but outside it''s rather more subdued.

Okay, okay, maybe I''m just not used to all this color on my hand!
