I received my EC Aquamarine from Jeff White, and I love it!

Here is the ring designs I have in mind, leaning toward 3-stone with step cut traps in the first ring, and I am likely to ask Jeff to cut me a pair in clear white stones when I have the means to set it.

Forgive me, I can't remember where I saw this setting. But your aquamarine would look so good with bullet side stones!

I love that setting too, however, it will be beyond my reach as bullet side stones are VERY expensive! Also, I do not like prongs.

DK :))

Have you received your goodies today dk? :appl:

Here they are, photos taken using my new phone and have not been edited.

My natural blue Asscher cut Topaz and white Topaz traps, all by Doug:

My re-made Amethyst ring, main stone cut by Richard Homer, with sky blue Topaz trillion sides by Doug:

I love them both!!!

DK  a very happy bunny again!

If there is any spare pennies available, I shall set more of the smaller stones for casual wear in the next few months.

And I am toying the idea of having icy pink Tourmaline step cut traps as side stones for my JW Aquamarine.

DK :))

Yay!!! Great update dk
I already commented on your natural blue ring in the 'Bespoke Gems Blues' thread. You have chosen such a great setting for your beautiful stone. The ring looks amazing on you and I love the choice of sidestones

And glad the Ammy ring is back where it belongs. Amazing signature ring.

Which of your smaller stones is highest on your setting list once the piggy bank is in good shape again?

Already commented on your AMAZING blue topaz ring, but wanted to add that I also love the ammy ring. It's super substantial, but fits your finger nicely and is really unique and "sleek". It's really a new classic and I'm sure you'll get tons of wear out of it. Glad it's back on your hand!!

Thank you for your kind words!

I shall check what I have in hand, as I know I have a few smaller stones from Jeff D that I would like to set, like a neon orange fire Opal, a cushion grey Spinel, a princess pink Tourmaline, and the trillion Tanzanite etc..

Gene's blue/green Tourmaline and Yvonne's Mahenge Spinel are also good contenders to be set soon.

Decision, decision...

DK

I have bitten the bullet and commissioned Jeff W to cut a pair of step cut traps in Morganite as side stones for his EC Aqua.

Here is a pic of the parcel of Morganite roughs where the rough for the traps came from, it is one of the larger ones so that it can be split and cut into a matched pair:

Should have them in hand by the end of the year, hopefully, it will be my Christmas present to myself, otherwise it will be my birthday present early next year.

DK :))

I just cannot resist these two CSs from Finewater Gems, both cut by Gary himself:

A 4.55ct blue green Tourmaline cabochon, 12.6 x 7.5 x 5.4mm:

A 3.17ct sugarloaf Amethyst, 8.2 x 8.2 x 6.7mm:

DK

Ah, the morganite sides will look so beautiful and dreamy in combination with your large EC! I am sure the final ring will be stunning as always dk!

Did you actually buy the luscious cabs? They look like green and purple candy. Especially the sugarloaf.

Thanks for the kind words, and yes, the cabs are on their way to me.

DK

Woahh those cabs are gorgeous! And the morganite looks nice too, the traps are going to be beautiful.

That sugarloaf! :appl:

I know, hence I could not resist!

Now I have to decide whether to have all-diamond paved surround, or all-pink sapphires, or a mixture; or just a pink sapphire halo to keep it simple.

DK :naughty:

Oh my gosh dk I cannot keep up with you!!! Love your new rings but I love even more how often you buy gems..... your face must be like this  :D  most of the time haha.

Having project after project to think about..gosh you are living my dream! (Probably most of our dreams here)!

Yay for buying these beauties :appl: You have a true dream collection. Looking forward to see your pics when they have arrived.
Just curious: how many delicicious stones do you have on your 'to be set' list?

I have lost count, and have shelved some of the stones I gave to my contact at diamondmounts last November, to be replaced by newer stones that I purchased since then.

@ theredspinel,

Thanks for the kind words. I am not going to ban myself from buying anything, however, I really should not buy anymore CS for the rest of the year!

DK :naughty:

This ring is on its way to me, set with Gene's blue green Tourmaline. It has been re-worked/re-made as the first attempt was not to my liking (my reservation about the air gap in the first CAD turned out to be correct).

And I have made some pearl drops to go with a pair of diamond huggies I bought in the LA's Diamond District back in July/Auguest, 0.38cttw, 8 diamonds in each earring, shown with a pair of lavender drops from Wen Pearls on Etsy. I searched high and low for a suitable pair of huggies just long enough for my big fat earlobes without jutting out to make my already big round face even wider:

Yay, your new rings is ready.

You were right to redo it. It looks gorgeous, I love it! I love the tourmaline in particular, the setting really enhances the cut and color. Very nice! I hope I can get to try it on in person someday :naughty:

Also if you have a reliable vendor for the detachable drops let me know. As you know I've also started my earring drop collection too! :appl:

Thanks for the kind words.

Try Wen Pearls on Etsy as they are inexpensive, and try wire-wrapping and make your own loop. :naughty:

Also Pearllunar on eBay for inexpensive pearls.

DK :))

Dk- the ring is gorgeous

Another person on the earring drop kick for her diamond hoops :wavey: (In fact, I was thinking of starting a thread as I am always looking for ideas for more drops). I've been working with Sally (HoW) in making egg drops for my diamond hoops. Likewise, I've been working with Yvonne on adapting some of her earrings (replacing the leverbacks with rings)..and plan to do the same with some of my pearl earrings.

Gorgeous dk!!! The ring looks stunning. I love the design, the perfect proportions and the beautiful tourmaline from Gene. Looking forward to see your in action pics when it arrives.

I love the look of the diamond huggies and pearl drops on you. Tres chique :appl:

Gene's blue green Tourmaline ring has arrived, and I love it!

Hand shots, including one next to my EC diamond:

Your new ring is amazing!!! Both the stone and the setting are top notch. You have such a beautiful and luxurious collection and this ring has that same chique feel. The green looks amazing on you. Enjoy wearing it and please share more pics.

I love your new tourmaline ring. The color is amazing!!! I can't believe it made the $1250 thread, it looks very substantial and a lot more than that!

Your newest ring is gorgeous and so classy.

I totally agree!!! So gorgeous and classy, and looks way more expensive than 1250!

DK congrats on the latest addition to your colored stone family. The ring is beautiful and elegant and looks lovely beside your EC

I like your pearl drops. Thanks for the ear shot. Those diamond hoops are a great size to use with drops!

Beautiful DK! I'm a massive fan of blue green tourmalines and yours is stunning.

My Morganite trap side stones by Jeff W are technically 2016's purchases, even though I have not received them yet (delayed shipping at my request).

Here are the glamour pic from Jeff, along with a pic of the roughs (cut from one piece into two for colour consistency):

IMHO, they should go well with his EC Aqua, and I intend to set the stones soon:

Beautiful side stones, such a delicious colour and (although I'm not normally into mixing colours) with your Aqua they're going to be 'yummy'!
Love the inspiration ring too.
Can't wait to see your finished ring.

Happy New Year!
