At least six years ago, my DH bought me a diamond pave'' bow at Fortunoff. While it was pretty, I always thought it was missing something and would serve as a nice foundation for an even nicer necklace and something that was more of a statement piece. My original intention was do put a halo-ed diamond pear drop under the bow, and then one day I tootled over to the Colored Stone forum (a neighborhood I didn''t often visit) and that plan changed. I contacted Lesley at BGD, explained what I envisioned, worked out some details and soon we were under way. I received my necklace before Christmas as promised, but I wasn''t 100% happy with it. I closed the lid on the box and put it aside for two weeks until after the holidays were over, and then called Lesley to talk. My necklace went back to their shop and it was completely remade. I received my piece yesterday and was absolutely thrilled when I opened the box, so much so that I had to call my husband at work just to tell him that my necklace was home and it was perfect!

I wanted to explain why my necklace went through two incarnations before reaching perfection for a reason- because we share our time on the #1 diamond information and education forum on the internet. Some PSers regulars may remember my first experience with what some people call our crazy "remote design process" and that experience left me kind of wondering if I''d ever involve myself with this process again. My recent experience with BGD has proved to me that I have nothing to worry about. Brian & Lesley did everything they could to make me happy with my new piece. They really went the extra mile for me (more than I can write about here) and for that, I am very grateful. They are two of the most genuine, upstanding people I''ve ever done business with. I am looking forward to working with them again very soon on a new diamond wedding band

.

I took almost fifty pictures to get this dozen. The bow necklace was mine and has .40 pts. of H/I SI diamonds in it. The fully articulated pear halo drop is a custom BGD creation of nineteen F/G color BGD Signature melee diamonds. The Tanzanian blue spinel is a lovely stone I sourced myself. The sun has been going in and out all day and some of the photos are a little dark but the spinel is a beautiful blue velvet color.

First the pro-shots-

I love it! I remember when you were trying to figure out which gem to halo. It turned out perfect!

It''s a fuzzy shot of the necklace, but here''s the rest of the puppy. LOL!

My dozen roses from last weekend are in sad shape, but here''s the card-

On my crystal "diamond" paper weight. Back to no sun again....

This spinel has a few different personalities!

Even back in the navy blue F0rtunoff box, the spinel is a pretty blue-

I can see a navy and maybe a burgundy cashmere V-neck in my future, but here it is on my old neck in a navy cotton sweater. Years in the sun and I have some freckles.

More of a real life perspective- last one
