Hi again all! :wavey: I hope you can help me out again once more!

I am looking for a Cathedral Tapered Pave setting for my engagement ring. I recently posted a topic about deciding between two companies but didn't realize how low set all of the settings were. Before giving up entirely, I thought I'd ask if anyone knows about a place that sells what I'm looking for. I'm extremely picky when it comes to my engagement ring and I look at my ring from a side profile very often, and I find the cathedral setting to be beautiful.

This is very similar to what my current setting looks like:

I very much adore the BGD 4 Prong Sleek Micro Pave setting, except that it's very low set. I understand that due to the diamonds on the band, that there is a risk of damage to the diamonds if set super high, but I don't think I'm asking too much... This is what I would love to see when I have a top-down view of my ring, with the tapered setting showing:

What I would really love is to combine these two settings together somehow— The cathedral part from the first setting, but adding the side diamonds and tapered portion from the BGD setting... Maybe not as high as it is, due to there being side diamonds but not low either..

With all the research that I have done online, I don't think what I am asking for is unreasonable but then again, I am not an expert. I realize there must be a reason why such a setting doesn't exist as I have tried Googling in all kinds of combinations the words "tapered, cathedral, pave, setting, engagement ring" but to no avail.

Has anyone seen any settings like this? If so, can you post photos and/or the link?

Thank you in advance!

Okay so. Just ask BGD to customize the setting so the stone is set higher.

They said they wouldn't set it much higher because they don't want to risk damage to the side diamonds. They would also charge me an extra $250+ because it would be customizing the ring.

$250 to customize a setting with pave diamonds is not bad, considering the labor involved.

These are just a few settings I thought you might like (we are not vendors of any of these companies). Not as low set as what you have, and some may not taper in towards the center stone, but just to give you a few ideas.

This one looks like it has a taper, and the pave diamonds on the gallery sides look to be protected by the edges of the shank.

I would think this one would be available with either the 4 or 6 prongs (we do not deal with SK so you would have to ask a vendor who does)

Doesn't have profile side diamonds, but does have that tapered look you like, the cathedral shape, and a pretty gallery.
