Thoughts on this setting?

Hi all! Hoping for some thoughts from those of you that know more rings and jewellery than I do.

I’m in market for a sapphire ring and have come across this one. I’ve never seen a setting quite like it and think it’s lovely - the prongs almost look square-shaped?

How you would describe these prongs / setting? And any advice on how effectively it would protect the stones / how durable it would be?

Good question! I’m not sure at this stage - I’d possibly consider buying it, so keen to understand it better, but also potentially look for other rings with a similar setting. Thanks!
