My wedding ring was stolen so I am looking for a new one. What do you think of a AGS, Princess, Ideal Cut, color G, SI1, 1.60 carat I found one that looks interesting but not sure? The inclusions show a crystal, a cloud and a feather toward the bottom of the stone-should I be worried about these? What''s a fair price for such a stone? Is Whiteflash a reputable company? Any thoughts would be helpful as I''m a bit nervous to buy onlline sight unseen! Thanks!

Hi vabaz

So sorry to hear what happened. But to help here, yes WF are absolutely a reputable company, AGS Princess sounds great, if you could post the link or the images and proportions of the diamond we can take a look for you.

OK here is the lowdown: Whiteflash site, AGS ideal cut, Princess, 1.60 carat, SI1, G, table: 67.5%, depth: 74.4%, pavillion angle: 39.4%, pavillion %: 58, polish and symmetry are both excellent, girdle: medium, cutlet: pointed, florescence: negligible. I am brand new to this forum so forgive me if I am not following all the proper rules-I don''t really understand how it all works-ha! Any thoughts on this particular stone/and or company would be greatly appreciated. Also, what about a fair price for such a diamon? Thanks again!

Thanks vabaz, is it possible you could link us directly to the diamond please? That way we can see the images of the diamond, or if you would rather not post the diamond directly, if you could post the images here - the ASET, Idealscope, Sarin report and photo of the diamond.

Yes it is - well done! And it is a lovely diamond!
I don''t fully understand the "ideal scope" image. Did you look at this re this diamond? Does it look good-I want a sparkly brilliant diamond? I''ve been told it is "eye clean." Also, I am thinking of a white gold setting - could you give me some insiders scoop on the quality of side diamonds in the setting I should go for to make the center 1.60 stone stand out! Thanks - love to hear any and all comments. It''s alot of money to spend - your thoughts and ideas help reinforce my thinking.

I did check all the images, the ASET is the most critical for fancy shapes and the image looks good. See this page which explains how to assess ASET and Idealscope images.

To the best of my knowledge WF use accent diamonds of F/G colour and VS clarity but it would be best to check with them as to the quality of these stones. The diamond in question will be beautiful, also WF have a good return policy so plenty of time to check out the diamond and make sure you are happy with it.

Oh my goodness...not 30 minutes after I posted this info, the diamond shows "reserved" and it''s not me who reserved it. Lesson learned I guess...

Ask WF if that stone is eye clean. There are crystals under the table and if they are black then you would likely notice them.

I asked WF if the stone was eye clean and they reported that it was indeed eye clean! Any other concerns?
