Has anyone ever heard of them? Are they creditable? Has anyone on Pricescope ever had a transaction? FI was thinking of purchasing me a stone from them. Thanks everyone.

I have never heard of them here. I would strongly recommend using a known vendor. There are many recommendations for reliable and honest vendors on this site.

Thank you for your response. That is how I am feeling, however his prices are good. Will never be able to get my ring...

If you can tell us a budget, we can help you find a stone and ring. Some people start out with a smaller stone from a vendor that allows upgrades and then for a future anniversary, they get a larger stone. In that case, you just get a simple setting and wait until you upgrade to get your final setting.

Sometimes there are good second hand options, too!

Stick with AGS/GIA graded stones. Enter the information from their certs in the HCA tool to determine if they are worth a further look.

https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca

Anything that scores under 2 is worth a further look. Some that score under 3 may be worth a further look. Get
idealscope images of the stones and post them here.

Around $3500 is my budget. It isn't much because we need to upgrade our condo. Was thinking of not getting a ring at all since I can't get what I want. I am fine with hand me downs. Also I would like a simple plain setting because my finger is a 3, too much stuff literally overwhelms my finger.

Thank you so much for your help.

What were you looking for?

If larger, you could drop the clarity to get larger. We can help with your budget! :)

We waited until we finished renovating our house and paid for the wedding, then I was able to relax, have a good idea of how many funds we could comfortable use towards the ring and then have fun buying it! :) AND I came in under budget with the ring and wedding ring together! :)

I would steer clear as DJU only sells clarity enhanced diamonds. Scroll down: http://www.diamondjewelryunited.com/the_4cs.php

If you are keen on purchasing from e-bay, I can personally recommend gemstoneking (http://diamonds.ebay.com) as I purchased a great stone at a great price from them. No images, but they have a 14-day, no questions asked, return policy.

Also, many PS'rs enjoy diamond hunting, so I would suggest posting your desired requirements and let PS point you in the right direction. Good luck, you won't regret the time to get educated before making a decision!

Thank you so much for your help. I am looking for 1.40 carat diamond. I know not in my budget but one day :twirl: Something 1ct and under is desirable. My setting would be simple because of my size 3 fingers. I ADORE Leon Mege's solitaire band but he is not within my price range but something along those lines. I wouldn't mind sacrificing clarity for something a little bigger. :D

I also want to say how kind of you to help me out in this way. It means so much to me as my FI (as wonderful as he is) has no clue.

Again thank you.

There's always a way to make something happen! :) However, a 1.4 ct ideal cut is probably not going to happen for $3000. If you expand your budget a tad, drop lower in clarity, color, and drop in size - ID jewelry may be able to help you get close. They've worked miracles for other PSers!

Or consider the pre-owned market or low color consider old cuts. Adam at Old World Diamonds can help you. Here's a 1.34 K I1 for $3400 - no pic so it could be a disaster. ;-) http://oldworlddiamonds.com/detail.php?ID=1701&SHAPE=EU

My next question is how you can do some of the condo reno yourself to free up ring budget! :) I'm very experienced in that area too! :wavey:

JMO, but I would be hesitant about dealing with gemstoneking. Their feedback speaks for itself.

I had a horrible experience with them.

Sorry you had a bad experience, but their feedback is excellent. 187,113 at 99.5% over the past 12 months, doesn't get much better. Not to mention they are the largest seller of fine jewelry on ebay and the only ebay seller with a direct sales channel to IDEX Online...

I stand by my last post. Being the biggest seller of fine jewelry has little meaning with feedback like this.

Do the math... 125 negative feedbacks out of a total of 26,630. Last time I checked, that's less than 1/2 of 1%. :nono:

Nancy, I'd recommend going to around I-J color SI1 clarity. Here is one from Good Old Gold at your exact budget and you can get the setting with it or not. Good Old Gold will allow you full credit for the diamond toward a future upgrade.

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9263/

WhiteFlash also offers full credit toward upgrades:

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2813905.htm

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2812395.htm

Stones from James Allen run a little less, but they require that you spend double for an upgrade:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1512044.asp

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1458708.asp

With all SI stones, you need to ask them to be very specific about whether the stone is eyeclean from the top and sides. You are lucky to have a tiny finger because a .75 ct. diamond will look nice!

Really stretching it with the neutrals (not helping or supporting either of two opposing sides), but your position still doesn't hold water. 478 out of 26,630 raises it to a whopping 1.8%. Even with your biased rationale of including the neutrals, that's over 98% positive feedback. Not to mention the vast majority of the negative/neutral feedback are NOT for GIA certified stones... :nono:  :nono:

Back on topic.

I just noticed GOG has this crazy 1.2 with the spread of a 1.4 - doesn't look like it's certed and the ASET isn't ideal, but GOG would be able to tell you more. It's an M color, too. However, if you really really want a big stone.... return policy on limited guarantee stones like this are only 10 days and on upgrade policy, though.

That could be an option Webdiva. I am still looking out and asking the FI.

I was wondering how you can help me with my condo situation? Need new floors, kitchen, bed and couch. I dream of a beautiful sectional.

Will be gone for 4 days for work. Will be back on Tuesday.

Start a thread in the Hangout section and I'll pop in and give some advice. You can save a TON of a kitchen by going IKEA and installing yourself - which we did! You might be able to eke out a ring budget just from THAT! :) Also list what part of the country you're in so we can find vendors. :)

I would not purchase from Diamond Jewelry United, The ring I bought did not look like the picture and certainly did not match the appraisal at all. I quickly returned the ring . I don't recommend them at all.

As others have said, do not buy a clarity enhanced diamond.
It’s like buying a rusted out car that someone has patched with a filler and given it a nice polish so it looks great!
Diamonds that are clarity enhanced have feather inclusions that have been filled with a substance to make that feather flaw disappear. Though it is often still noticeable!
The problem with feathers is that they are cracks, natural cracks, but if surface reaching they can seriously undermine the structural stability of the gem. We all accidentally bump our diamonds from time to time, a clarity enhanced diamond has a much greater chance of fully cracking apart!
If you want best value for money, consider a preloved ring. Just like new cars that drop $$$$ the second you drive out the car yard, new rings have taxes and shop profit included in the price.
Maybe even consider a white sapphire or other diamond “alternative (we can’t talk about Moissanite here) for a cost effective and still stunningly beautiful ring.
I’m not a diamond guru like the others here but I can assure you for any budget they can find you the best quality and best value diamond that’s out there. If you go for just a simple 4 or 6 claw setting, you can get the ring for under $500.
