We have just been discussing that it is harmful to use ammonia to clean diamonds set in WG [see thread below]. I have been thinking of getting an US. Are there any cleaners--prepackaged or homemade solutions--that don't contain ammonia? I want sparkling clean diamonds, but don't want to damage the WG. I haven't had to replate anything and don't want to start something. Most of the US threads talk about ammonia based products

What about Mr. Clean; that does not have ammonia?

ETA: I don't know what people use as far as amount of Mr. Clean to water ratio, but there was a huge thread about people using their US w/ Mr.Clean and how well it worked. Of to look it up for ya

Here is one thread on Mr. Clean https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/mr-clean.29584/
and another one. This one gives the mixture info on page 5 https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/can-you-use-an-ultrasonic-cleaner-to-often.34606/page-5

It doesn''t? What proportion Mr. Clean to water would you add to the US, Skippy?

I add a cap full of Mr Clean and the rest warm water (to the fill line).
