A wonky cut for sure, but a 1.44 ct blue diamond?!! :o

800K, 1 Million, 1,5 Million pct???

Loosing 0,05 ct could be loosing 50K - poor cutter :D :D

The shape would be o.k. for me....

If the gem-buying public were better educated, this gem *would* be worth more wearing a better cut and weighing 5 points less?

If I had that kind of money, I'd buy a piece of a real ocean with a house on it...

I don't think its a bad cut, just a little off. I bet it still sparkles like an FCD should.

Its quite pretty but even if I had the money no way I'd buy it. It looks more like a deep or dark blue.

That blue diamond looks more like the blue of some denim jeans than the ocean.

Yeppers, I was thinking that if I had mega bucks, I 'd still just as soon purchase a nice Montana sapphire & save the $$$$$$$.

My question would be is it a piece of the Blue Ocean - would be interesting whether they cut only that large cushion or some smaller stones too??

My inspiration for setting a blue spinel in my first rose gold semi-mount, was this blue diamond ring in rose gold The spinel has a lot of sparkle, and emulates this blue diamond, although a diamond is a diamond. Many blue spinels are very greyish, and when well cut, offer a lot of sparkle and rainbow flashes.

. . . and yes, I saved millions. LOL!

I've been on the ocean my whole life and still yet to see water colored like any blue diamond. If anything, the royal blue color of many Kashmir Sapphires is the closest to that lovely blue color of the oceans. Although admittedly the ocean can be a dark green colour when there's algae concentrations or almost a dark purple when hot currents start to kiss the coastline lol.

Some green blue diamonds can have that paraiba blue color, which reminds some people of a body of water, like the pear shape all the way to the right of this Leibish diagram of various fancy blues and green-blues.

Ask Kenny - maybe she will sell it???? :D
Kenny is a he. In any case, I'm guessing the ocean reference might be to when the sea is stormy (deep, dark and huge rough waves)?

I remember a stone I would like to have in my collection.

My favorite is the neon greenish yellow!!

I LOVE saturated greenish yellow diamonds (well, and chrysoberyl). Even though the colour isn't too popular they're surprisingly expensive compared to pure yellows. This was a nice intense greenish yellow on Leibish, 12 points, for about 1.7k at some point.

For a yellow green FCD, I'd rather get the irradiated version for less $.

O.K. - why not - better this then wasting an untreated beautiful rare FCD for jewellery...

I will buy a small collection of them just for fun...deep green, blue and neon greenish yellow.

BUT a natural untreated neon ......

Or a well cut chrysoberyl.

And rare too - neon chrysoberyl

Because every time I see this particular yellow green FCD colour, it smacks automatically to me as an irradiated colour.
