Pave?

I''m waiting for my ring to come back from being sized. The appraisal is also on the way ...we bought this ring from a local store (the owner happens to be mayor pro-tem of our little town). It was an estate ring.... how would you describe the side stones? Is pave acurate?

The ring is .70 carats .. emerald cut - D in color and VS1 ( I think) in clarity with a platinum setting. The spots you see in the picture are reflections of me taking the picture... promise

I had to double check after seeing the picture!

I believe the stones on the band are prong-set, not pave.

Hi xiaoemily...the rings are actually a four prong ''design''/''style''. There are many different looks to how ''side'' diamonds'' can look on a ring from Shared Prongs, to Four Prongs, to Pave to channel. It is all a matter of preference and how u would like ur ring to turn out...

There are many different styles on the eye candy link on SMTR, that should give you a clearer example of the different styles out there enjoy! (oh and ur ring is beautiful!)

the band is 4 prong, shared prong is when to two diamonds share prongs, your''s seem to have 4 prongs holding each diamond like Mara''s famous rings...
