Because they aren't well cut stones.

I've told you that EC's are hard.

Yes. And that is why I keep telling you to just bite the bullet and work with GOG.

Why so much blue? Is it not good?

The blue represents the obstruction pattern, that light that you obstruct from reaching the diamond by the very act of looking at it. For this diamond to look bright to you, you will need a transparent head I believe.

Both of the new ones have P3 angle issues. I don't recommend them. But the first one is better than the second.

And LOL @ WINK!

Now you understand the pricing at GOG. They spend lots of time to find their customers great fancies. And time is money. Actually gor the work they do for their customers their prices are quite reasonable. Wink can also find you a lovely stone.

You don't do searches for it. You call him and ask him to find you a stone based on your parameters. He sources the stone for you and sends you images and an ASET.

I love Wink and don't get me wrong, I have faith he can source you a nice stone. But GOG is KNOWN for sourcing nice ECs.

I don't know why you just don't give them a call.

If you have chest pain you call a cardiologist. You don't call a podiatrist. And you don't go off on your own trying to find hemopathic cures. I keep giving you the same advice and you keep ignoring it as if you know better. *Sigh*

Hey, who you calling a podiatrist?

You are right though, I am absolutely the wrong guy to call for an emerald cut. Most of them are worthless lumps of crystallized carbon. It is necessary to be able to see many of them until you find one that is a looker. That is much easier for someone who is near the diamond center in a large city than it is for someone like me in the hinterlands of Idaho.

I have many strengths. Emerald cuts are NOT one of them.

The ECs you've shown so far are not nice looking. The first two have obstruction issues and the last two are leakers with P3 issues. As you can tell, shopping by the numbers have little benefit. Just call GOG to help you. Unless you have the experience to "see" the stones and sort of predict their performance like Gypsy, you are wasting your time with all these ASETs.

You are the best and I know you would help any customer and find them a great stone. But with how hard EC's are and how good GOG is at finding them consistently, and the fact that I don't think I've ever seen an EC sourced from you... it did seem a bit like the podiatrist analogy. No offense meant, my friend. :wavey:

So thankful that I had just swallowed the sip of coffee that was in my mouth as I began to read Wink's response

Extremely accurate explanation by the way...

How firm is your budget? What is the setting you want? Maybe we can help you find a similar but less expensive setting so you can up the stone budget?

I'm thinking about solitaire, but more inclined to a pair of tapered baguettes, 18 white gold. What's the difference in price between these two settings? I know if the center stone is a G then the baguette have to be H+, right?
Perhaps around 13-14k for the center stone? Total around 15.5k?
Do you if this budget makes sense for G VS2+, abt 1.6ct? L/W around 1.42 but less than 1.44
Thank you gypsy!!
