I was thinking it would be really interesting to see a mens white gold wedding band with a tungsten inlay. I have seen it done with a titanium inlay but all the custom tungsten ring makers say it can''t be done. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I like the idea of having a white gold band to match the engagement ring but a raised tungsten inlay to protect it from scratches.

So expert wedding band wearers out there.

Do you think someone can make a ring like that?
Are there other materials that are as scratch resistant as tungsten?
Does satin finish show fewer scratches then mirror finish?

Thanks everyone!

Here are two examples of how I think it could be done, can someone tell me if I am way off base? And if any vendor would be willing to try one of these processes?

First, create the two rings separately and combine them by sliding one over the other and adding gold to hold it in place

Second, create the tungsten and put it into a mold, then cast gold around it.

Here are diagrams to explain.
