Setting Help

Hi everyone. I have an OEC set in a vintage fillagree ring. My setting is now cracked and I'm looking to re set my stone. I don't have a lot of $ for this, as it was unexpected and we are in the middle of IVF. So.. I found a cheap but pretty setting that I think would look nice.. but my stone is currently in an illusion square mount. So it sits very flush. I was told my stone has a thin - very thin girdle. Could you tell me if you think the new mount would be ok?
