I like the aset on the first one better.

I am not loving either ... but these look like they have potential.

This is one of the prettiest modified cushions I have seen.

Really nice diamond but I am concerned it won't be eye clean (it's the hard to find 8 thin mains modern cushion)

Really nice antique cut

I actually really like that first one too and it just might be my pick of the 3 pending asets etc.

I think these 4 cushions are the nicest I have found in a long time in the virtual world. I really hope someone buys them.

I love love that 2.0 ct.

Wait...when you say the first one...do you mean my first one? Or do you mean the first one charmypoo posted?

Also, as far as James Allen goes...how can you tell how well it performs? I use some of the other vendors because I trust them to tell me what they see.

Thanks again Charmy and everyone else!

Oh, and I'm trying to stay at 18k.

Just request ASETs for the 1.5 antique and the 1.8 Modern. Passed on the 2ct since it's out of my price range (18k). Passed on the other one since it has those huge black inclusions right in the middle.

Thanks again!

You can get ASET from JA to help evaluate. Plus, most of their inventory is virtual so the vendors you are working with can likely find and/or have access to the same stones if you want to go through them instead.

For the 2nd one, the black inclusion looks pretty obvious but I didn't rule it out right away as it is a VS2 so maybe if we are lucky it is eye clean. Only reason I consider it is that it is a beautiful diamond other than that inclusion that is really obvious in those blown up images. Doesn't hurt to ask for their evaluation.

The very first diamond you posted I liked. But I also like the vintage cushions more than modern ones by nature.

James Allen is similar to other places but you just have to tell them which you want evaluated. Go to them with 3 stones you'd like information on and they pull them, give you asets, and tell you which performs best.

Chris was nice enough to read this post and pull the 1.7 VS2 8 thin main and have an ASET done. It's the second one on CharmyPoo's list with the black inclusions. So FAST!

With my very limited knowledge, I think the ASET for the first diamond I posted is a bit better.

I like the physical appearance of this one better. Did he mention if the black inclusion is visible?

Basically, he said no...

"there is a cavity as well as a crystal as the main key to inclusions chart by GIA so with a crystal straight down the table its all about positioning so I don't think its eye clean from a certain angle if you understand what I'm trying to say..."

Wow I now have more choices. I wasn't considering JA before, until Charmy posted those diamonds as suggestions.

Since I can't be going back and forth about modern vs antique, I just made a choice and said I will go modern. I see the beauty in both though.

Anyway, JA finally sent me the ASET on this:
Which I actually think looks pretty good.

Just for fun, here's the antique cut, but as I said before, I decided I needed to narrow things down so I won't be considering it.

Here are another 2...I'd love to get opinions about all 4 offerings from PS'ers.

I think I am already leaning towards one though.

I really don't like the GOG right diamond - think it's ugly. The left one maybe but I am not a huge fan of it.

Personally, I would buy the antique diamond but you ruled out antique.

I agree I'd go with the antique one if that's still on the table. Otherwise I like the original one you posted from erd

Hmm, well the problem with antique is that'd I'd have to start the search over from scratch...

How come? That one seems nice....would it change the overall design of your ring?

I just meant that I'd ask vendors to find me an antique cut stone...

Surely I couldn't just say that 1.5ct at JA was the one right?

It's a bit smaller than I want to go for...

Too many stones in this thread, but most of them are really nice. Can you link to the 4 you are considering? In the GOG video of G/H SI1 they both look nice, I like the H better.

Both JA look good.

I can't post links because not all of them have a link.

But it's the first one I posted.
The JA modern cut.
The GOG H.

I might just have to get 2 and return the one I don't like...
