They stay where you put them on the post. I found them difficult to get on and off and at first my ears were red and uncomfortable for a few weeks because they are about three times thicker than normal posts. I eventually had my earrings reset with normal backs because they were so annoying. Backs were maybe 6 or 7mm? Hope this helps.

I would get the regular friction backs. I feel like the La Pousette backs have had quite a few complaints and in my opinion, screwbacks are terribly uncomfortable and they are hassle to put on and off.
