Hi all
My wife and I were recently expecting our first child, we decided not to find if it was a boy of a girl.
As a gift for her I decided to get a cross over toi & moi ring with a pink and blue heart to represent that uncertainty but either way it would have our hearts.
I have bought a GIA .5 ct Purple Pink Fancy Diamond already but while searching for a blue diamond we had the worst news and we found out that the baby had a severe problem with the left side of its heart. Numerous specialist and scans later the only real option was to terminate the pregnancy. I was devastated but for my poor wife it has been just awful.
I have decided that I would like to continue to make a piece of jewelry but that it would be in remembrance. I thought that perhaps a bracelet that was similar to the Tiffany Elsa Peretti design but with a pink heart, a blue heart and then a clear heart all in bezels in the positions. Then engraved on the gold tab near the clasp just the date and an inscription.

At the moment I am struggling to find a blue diamond that would work. The blue stones are really polarizing, in that some are fantastically expensive and then others that are more affordable I don't think many people would want as they are just gray or muddy (if dark) or they can look like a poor colour clear stone if the "faint" or "fancy light".
Generally I would not be averse of buying a colour enhanced stone but it appears that natural blues are near impossible to create and I feel that it needs to be natural for this piece. Size wise I am looking for something from about .25 - .5 ct blue or blue gray. I have one option of a .29 fancy blue stone from reddiam that is currently on hold for me while I await better pics.
Also for the colourless diamond something tells me that I should for once buy a completely flawless stone, so a D FL (not IF). But I see these are few and far between. Anyone know of any at .5ct? I see one on bluenile but its a bit bigger.
For the braclet what would everyones opinion be for the gold? I think the stones should be in bezels and I would think rose gold on the pink, platnium/white gold on the clear then what on the blue? My wife mainly wears yellow gold so I was thinking the chain could be yellow gold.
thanks for any comments
