european cut diamonds

I am new to all of this. I have a european cut 2.32 VS 1 M color stone with total weight of 2.82 diamonds. It was given to me from an old relative. Is this ring worth much? It has beautiful sparkle. It is in a white gold setting.

Depending upon its current condition (and accuracy of the grading), it can be worth quite a pretty penny. I suggest getting it looked over by an independent appraiser and having it insured ASAP.
