Hi PriceScopers,
I thought that I might as well start a new thread since other PSers might find this an interesting/relevant question. I have heard horror stories of people with round eternity stones falling out of their bands, but I thought the princess cuts, flush, would stay put better than the rounds. But I am still wondering whether there are structural advantages/disadvantages to a bar vs shared setting in princess cut channel set 1/2 eternity bands. As Old Miner pointed out https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/sizing-down-a-platinum-half-eternity-band-by-more-than-2.171674/,,, if your resize the ring, you are better off with shared prong as opposed to bar prong, but are there other issues with respect to the longevity of the band, e.g. less prone to chipping in the bar setting?
Thanks for reading and advising!
