HELP! 14.8mm South Sea Pearl Earrings? Do you like them?

Okay, so I bought the 11.8mm SS pearl stud earrings from PP. Then I saw the photo of Angelina Jolie in the huge SS pearl earrings. So then I ordered these 14.8mm SS pearl studs. I'm totally new to pearls so please bear with me.

Do you like the new larger ones? Do you think they have nice luster? What do you think of the color and tone? Please let me know if I should keep them or keep looking for nicer ones. Regardless I am returning the smaller ones because I want to go up in size, but I included it here for comparison. Please help- thank you!

Do you think the larger ones are "creamy"? I read somewhere off white ones are less valuable?

By themselves, yes, the pearls look lovely. Although I'm not a south sea specialist.

What do you think of the luster, tone, and size? I don't know if this color works on my complexion? These were described to me as being off-white with very slight green tone. There are none available from PP in this size with silver or rose tone. I was guessing maybe silver tones look best on Asian skin, as silvery pearls are supposedly favored in Asia?

I am really tempted to go bigger from the Angelina Jolie pic, but it seems really difficult and expensive to go more than 15mm.....Also, hers seem more silvery? I don't know if it's because she was wearing a silver gown.....Too bad I can't just buy her face haha!

p.s.: I don't usually wear glasses, but I did just pick up this new pair...

Here's the Angelina pic that inspired it all, LOL! Do you think hers are still bigger? And don't you think hers are more silvery?

(Try not to compare my face with hers, thanks. Just the pearls. LOL!)

Your first picture of the pearls is lovely, but you have photographed them on a pink scarf. If you look at the photo, you can see pink reflected along the edges of the pearls, so it is difficult for us to tell if they have a green tint or not.

See if you can get some photos of your pearls laying on an ordinary white paper towel. That makes for a more neutral backdrop.

BTW, those are gorgeous pearls, but I agree, it is hard to be sure when you don't have lots to compare to in real life.

My two cents are keep both sizes. The luster seems good on both. 11 MM are really not small pearls and look wonderful on ears and they happen to be my favorite size for me. They would be perfect for anytime when a clasic apperence is needed. Now the larger pearls are quite a statement and would be perfect for those times when you want to pop out of the crowd. Great choices

I love big pearls, myself, I think they are true treasures to be passed down for generations. Congrats!

I think Angelina's pearls may be more silvery, but they might also be reflecting the dress. I think that's they wildest thing about pearls; they really do change in different lights. I think yours are just as beautiful, and look great on your skin.

Isn't Angelina just terrible? I have spent too much on Louis Vuitton because of her!

Yes, ILander, Angie terrible!! Haha! I'm still Team Jen, but Angie has slowly worn me down in the past few years. I no longer hold a full grudge. Haha.

Ideally I like the color of the small pearls better. I just called PP, and they might try to put in a special order for me in the silvery tone. So stay tuned! I might still keep these if nothing else works out, but I figured I should try to get what I love because I will be wearing these my whole life!

I seriously love dealing with Chenai from Pearl Paradise!!! Just the best customer service ever!!

Yes, thank you! PP sent me two pairs of backs, a regular one and the one that give support. I can definitely tell a difference and am able to wear these all day long.....They do droop, but I kinda like that....

Lovely! My 2 cents....keep them both! Don't go bigger. They look perfect on your skin coloring. My eyes are sparkling green right now
