Iridium Rings

Just wondering if anyone knows if an Iridium ring can be made with 100% Iridium? Or is it typical to mix Iridium with 14k gold? And if the ring is Iridium, what would the ring be stamped on the inside?

Good question! Try to run a search on the forum. Quite a bit ago there has been an entire thread about this opened by someone who was looking for some jewelry use of his Iridium stock. I don''t remember all the facts amassed there, but I think it turned out that such things barely exist - perhaps just the ocasional simple wedding band.

Hello K&M,
To my knowlege pure iridium has an extremely high melting point, is manufactured in powder form, is very soft and dark grey in color, and is very expensive! Seems enough reasons to me not to make jewely out of pure Ir.
