he is growing sooooooo fast! i already need to take new pics. the breeder was afraid that his ears would stay flopp, which i love, but they''ve already pointed up (which is breed standard). Now he always looks so quizzical with his huge ears that he hasn''t quite grown into!
anyway, before we get to pics, just an update. I had posted previously about how he wasn''t doing so hot when we first brought him home. We took ya''lls advice and layed off on the crate and spoiled him mercilessly for a week or so. He took VERY well to the spoiling and has become quite the divO! LOL...no kidding when someone said he would eventually realize he was king od his domain. He is now super attached to us, active, curious, and playful! THe downside to the spoiling was that he began to think of the entire house as his private bathroom
. He has an AMAZING ability to hold it for WAY longer than a puppy his age ought to be able to. He would hold it hold it hold it, then promptly go on th floor the minute we give up and step back inside the house
. We gave up and finally started crate training. Despite the heartbreaking cries, it was the BEST move we ever made housebreaking wise. We had a rather traumatic start -- things get graphic here about puppy 1s and 2s so those without the ability to handle it, skip the next few lines -- the secnd tme we finally got him tostart using #2 outside, it got stuck. poor dear was straining for 10 minutes while i was in a panic about what to do. plastic covered manual assistance from me did not help things along. we finally rushed to the vet who had to put him in a tub to lossen things up and get things unstuck. then he had to be tested for parasites just incase, which meant for things stuck up his rear. he somehow assocoaited this visit with the vet and refused to do #@ outside for a week. but with lots of patience and lots resistance to pitiful whines from the crate, he''s starting to understand that outside time is the best time to do the deed
ok, so more info than anyone needed to know, but i''m so proud of my little chewy baby for learning to go outside that i had to brag
so now the pics, which is what everybody is REALLY here for!
