at about a year they dropped to 2 naps and at 1 year and 6 months they dropped to 1 nap. I bet no naps will pop up soon, maybe 2 1/2? We are 3 months of away from 2 years old.
A still does 3 at 8 months old. One from 10 a.m. to noon, one from 4 to 5 p.m., and one short one between 7-8 p.m. (Last one is about 15 minutes long.)
DD went from 4 naps to 2 naps at about 9 months (the 4 isn't a typo, she was a shocking catnapper and never slept more than 40 mins for a day nap till then when we finally managed to get some longer stretches) and then she dropped to 1 sleep at about 13 months. At almost 2 she has an hour and a half to 2 hours most days.
I don't remember when she went from 3-2 naps, but she went from 2-1 naps at just around a year. She now sleeps once a day (roughly noon) for anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on if she's sick, teething or woke up in the middle of the night. Oh, and it also depends on when she wakes up, usually between 8-9am. Bedtime routine starts at 8, usually asleep by 8:30-8:45.
3 naps to 2 started around 6 months, but the transition took about 2 months.
2 naps to 1 transition is starting now (at 11 months). Sort of. She still takes two solid naps while at home, but tends to only take 1 nap at daycare. I still ask for her to be put down for 2 naps at daycare because I think she's too young to go to 1.
I do not for the life of me remember my kiddo ever taking more than 2 naps a day, but from 11 months onwards, he's been wiggling away from 1 of them. These days - as mentioned above - depending on teething, etc., we're usually talking a 2 hour ish nap around noon, ranging to two hour+ naps, one at 11:30 and one at 4:30 if he's feeling cooperative. It's actually the uncertainty that bugs - v. hard to plan around! Currently 14 months old.
