Hi all, can I hear from some folks comparisons of chrysoberyl and yellow diamond? Having never seen a chrysoberyl IRL I often see pictures of some chrysoberyl online and am surprised at how it makes me think of yellow diamond. So is it my colorblindness missing something? Or are there some similarities?

Chrysoberyls remind me more of yellow sapphires, especially in the more golden hues. They take on a nice luster and sparkle, but they don't quite have the refraction of a diamond, so the two would look significantly different when placed next to each other IMHO. I suppose if you had tiny enough chrysoberyls (melee size), they might be able to fool the eye, but so would small yellow sapphires.

A chysoberyl is going to flash yellow, green and some blue. A yellow FCD will show a full spectrum dispersion.

Thank you! Thank you! These are exactly the descriptors I was looking for. NOW I understand the difference, thanks much!
