It's fabulous! Love the luscious color of the stone with the lushness of the rose gold. Well done.

Wow, that's stunning! ... the stone, that sharply-defined star, and the setting! :appl:

Thank you @Kenny ! The last thing I need is another ring but I saw it and had to have it. To me it looks natural. The lines are sharp but not too perfect. What do you think? It is from a reparable seller.

I'm far from an expert on such stones, but I'm really partial to the color of yours, and the star is quite well-defined.
On many others it's rather diffuse and fuzzy.

Nice score! :lickout:

The quickest way to tell is if the rays of the stars move when you move the ring around. If the star is fixed then it is not a natural star sapphire.

Oh, wonderful! But I guess the only way you will know for sure is to have it tested by a geologist with the right equipment. Regardless, it's a pretty stone and sizeable ring and looks great on your hand. :wavey:

Do you have a suggestion of someone who I can send it to? My local jeweler does not have the equipment to test it.

Eh.. my phone autocorrected gemologist to geologist.. what can you do?

I would just send it to AGL for a gem brief. It's only $80 for mounted stones.

I'm going to give this to my gf when I propose to her at the Grand Canyon. I've already had it resized and polished. The head of the ring now matches the band, all is shiny white gold.

Ebay description:

ANTIQUE / VINTAGE ~ 14K White Gold ~ DIAMOND Filigree Engagement Ring ~ VS / G

A cool looking and eye catching antique engagement ring! Features a beautiful VS clarity G color Natural Diamond. The ring is 8.66 mm wide.
Material 14K Gold
Color White
Weight 2.0 Grams
Stones Qty. 1
Stones Type Diamonds
Stones Total Weight approx. 0.08 Carats
Clarity: VS2
Diamond Color: G

I picked this ring because it is different. She's pretty unique herself. The head isn't heavy and shouldn't spin when she conducts. (She's a band director and plays the clarinet.)

We'll see if shell pose for any hand shots. She's really quite modest. I will be very excited if she excepts the proposal
