After searching for a stone online and visiting several local establishments, I ended up purchasing the stone and setting locally from a Jeweler in Louisiana. The price of the stone was comprable to several stones at various sites online, and the local jeweler was able to give me a deal on the setting.
Before I made the final selection, I actually ordered a couple of really nice stones from JamesAllen that I wanted to see in person, but the stone locally just had the chunky cut and superior brilliance that I had been looking for.
I will say that even though I ended up returning the stones to JamesAllen, the experience with them was excellent. Unfortunately, the stones I ordered from them just didn't compare with the one that I ended up purchasing. In my opinion, there is not a substitute for comparing the stones side-by-side.
Lucky girl! It's beautiful! And I think your right, there is nothing like having the oppurtunity to see these stones side by side. Some people prefer the crushed ice look that JA tends to carry, but I agree with you, I love the chuncky faceted cushions, they have such a soft romantic feel to them. Your tastes are impeccable! It's a beautiful ring! Congrats!!
