Marvel, I was the L.A. Queen of them. At 11, I in 1976, I made my mom take me to Maxfields, this cool store in West Hollywood. I promised I would be happy with a low pair, and of course once I got there decided I needed the three or four inch ones! She got me both, and allowed me only the low ones at school. I would wear the high ones, with a tube top and jean shorts, and thought I was the bomb! I was actually just thinking of them the other day, they were the rage in L.A. when I was in middle and high school.
