Re: Martini setting not sitting entirely in the ear?

Bigger stones do have more depth so they will sit off of the ear a little more. Mine are the 6 prong version and sit nicely on my ear lobes with the help of jumbo backs: m-2-b: I love the way your studs look with the 6 prong! That's what I want mine to look like. Mine stick out just a bit and that ...

I have La Pousette backs which do help a little to push the earring in to be more flush but it's not enough.

Re: Martini setting not sitting entirely in the ear?

Both the size of the stone and the style of the 3-prong martini setting will affect how a particular earring "sits" in your piercings. You've probably gone up a full millimeter in diameter (lucky girl!), so the prongs would spread out more even if you had gotten the earrings from the same...

Martini setting not sitting entirely in the ear?

I have a pair of studs from DI that I wore for many years that are in a 3 prong martini setting (1.22 ctw). They sat perfectly "flush" in my ears and I was very happy with them. This year DH got me a bigger pair (2 ctw) in a 3 prong martini setting from WF. When I got them, I noticed that ...

Re: 11mm South Sea pearl and diamond drops

What kind of pearls do you have from PP? I would love to see them! Not sure how the pricing is with the WF pearls compared to online pearl sites - I just trust Bob to get me beautiful pearls. I've never bought pearls anywhere else but WF. My other pearl project is repurposing the pearl drops I had ...

Luckyhonu, these SSP earrings are AMAZING! I can totally see the reflection of you taking the picture! I had no idea WF sources pearls! I buy my pearls from PP, but never pieces with diamonds because I'm worried the stones won't be well cut. How are the WF prices for individual pearls compar...

luckyhonu - These are stunning! Do you mind sharing whether you bought the pearls separately and sent them to WF? If so, would you share the pearl vendor? blingbunny10 - I had WF source the pearls, I didn't have to buy them separately. Bob at WF was a doll to work with and of course I had to have A...

Re: At last...the journey of my 3.366ct. WF ACA engagement r

Thank you for the support everyone! I initially wanted a smaller stone but fiance was insistent on getting a 3ct+ stone. I am so lucky that he thinks that way!!! He already has shrinkage looking at the ring - "I thought it would be bigger?" but I told him it is perfect and I don't ...
11mm South Sea pearl and diamond drops

I love South Sea pearl and diamond drops....WF did a fantastic job of making these beauties for me in the midst of several other projects and delivered it on time. South Sea pearls are 11mm and to me, have a silvery hue to them....diamonds are ACAs 0.10, 0.08 & 0.05. The lustre is really nice an...

It will be in a basket setting with double claw prongs and ACA diamonds on the crossbar. I'm also going to go with euroshank because my finger is smaller than my knuckle.

Re: HCA score 1.5 okay for WF ACA stone?

Wow, how exciting!!! :appl: Just FYI, you don't use the HCA on Whiteflash ACA's or any AGS Ideal cut stones. The purpose of the HCA is to narrow down the broad category of GIA Excellent stones to help find the best ones. The HCA is a screening tool, and you'd still want to have light return images ...

HCA score 1.5 okay for WF ACA stone?

My WF ACA 3.366ct stone has been cut and I plugged in the HCA specs and it came out to 1.5, which is still good, correct? It's been a while since I've been looking at HCA scores but from what I remember, 1.5 is still very good. I guess part of me is second guessing that it should be higher! :D Shape...

Re: 2 carat center stone too big on size 2.5 finger?

As someone who is a size 2.25, my answer is NO! It's about what you like, not about what someone thinks should look good for you. For our finger size, a 2ct. can look like a 4 ct, but that should not deter you from getting what you want.
