I have found a setting that I really like. It is tention setting. I found it at Michael's Hill. It is:

http://www.google.ca/imgres?q=michael+hill+tension+ring&hl=en&biw=1152&bih=590&tbm=isch&tbnid=552DArMaZy2xqM:&imgrefurl=https://www.michaelhill.com/ProductPage.aspx%3Fsku%3D10266762&docid=yehKHH9jhoV7EM&imgurl=https://www.michaelhill.com/Media/Images/Sku/10266762_1.png&w=500&h=500&ei=fVSsTtzGDIjniAKD_JiXCw&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=391&sig=116168743744581255605&page=1&tbnh=108&tbnw=108&start=0&ndsp=23&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&tx=45&ty=57

The ring is 0.5; color K and the clarity is not so great. The ring is overpriced and I hear that Michael's Hill diamond quality are not so good.

Where can I get this kind of setting? I am thinking to get a good quality diamond and set it separetly?
What do you think about tention setting?

Tension settings, TS, are wonderful.
We have three of them, two of which are pictured below.
The ring you linked to is not a TS because TSs do not have any metal under the diamond as in my pic below.
The ring in the link is sometimes called a tension setting look.

It is easier to keep a diamond clean in a TS than in a prong setting. (Yes, I realize that is not a prong setting.)
TSs let more light into and out of the diamond and they let you enjoy more of your diamond at almost any angle instead of just face up.
I love them since you are seeing and enjoying more of the diamond you paid so much for.
Plus, IMHO, they are safer than settings with prongs.

TSs are much stronger and beefier than prongs.
Here on PS we read lots of posts about people losing diamonds because the prongs bent and they didn't even know when or why it happened.
A TS is so strong that if you ever banged your hand hard enough to force it open (I doubt that's even possible without a trauma that would send you to the hospital) you'd immediately know it and look at your ring; you'd see the diamond is gone immediately and get on your knees to find it.
With prongs just putting your hand in your pocket or purse or putting on a sweater can be enough to snag and bend a prong and lose the diamond without any clue of what just happened, or when it happened.

It is important the jeweler know the special alloys and processes to make a tension setting correctly.
Personally I'd only trust a few TS specialist . . .

Gelen Abaci
Steven Kretchmer
Boonerings
The latter works only in Titanium, the former three work only in platinum and gold.

Thank you for posting.
I really love the tention setting look. The ring I found is at Michael Hill. I would like to get a better diamond that the ring has.
What can I do if I like the setting but I don't like the diamonds that the seller offers?

Buy from a seller of well cut diamonds at good prices with good service and policies.
I recommend, and have bought from:

www.goodoldgold.com
www.whiteflash.com
www.jamesallen.com

Based on reading reviews here for 6 years I also recommend (but have not bought from)...
www.briangavindiamonds.com

Any of these can order and/or custom-make a similar setting since it is not an tension setting, but has the tension setting look.
Just email them a pic and ask for a quote.

I strongly recommend you buy the setting and diamond from the same vendor.
No vendor likes to set stones they did not sell you for many legit reasons besides just making less money off of you.

Are you the guy or the girl? Just asking because not too many girls are fond of tension settings (even though we tend to like
them for guys). If your GF ask for a tension setting or you are pretty sure she likes them then by all means, but if you dont
really know then I would think twice about it.

Some others...
