Hello all. I am very close to buying this heart cut diamond at Excel Diamonds:

Heart Brilliant
Measurements: 4.99 x 5.69 x 3.34 mm
Carat Weight: 0.54
Color Grade: F
Clarity Grade: VVS1
Proportions:
Depth: 58.7 %
Table: 60 %
Girdle: Medium to Thick, Faceted
Culet: None
Finish:
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: None
Clarity Characteristics: Feather

Barry of Excel Diamond has taken me a very clear picture of the diamond. Picture attached. The symmetry is rated by GIA as very good, but when I look at the picture, it looks to me that the right and left sides do not perfectly balance. Can you guys give me some advice? Or is it already considered very good cut for heart shape?

If you had the crown height, you could use the Old AGA DIY Grading system to check on the cut grade:

I know things are changing, but you could get a ball park idea from the numbers.

Also, from the Old Cut Charts, you''ll note the cut ratio is a bit out of proportions. L to W ratio is a bit out of kelter for the higher grade cuts. Doens''t mean it''s not a sparkler, just not squeeking into top tier range.

Crown height will probably reveal more about the cut.

Hi. I love heart shaped diamonds.

I measured from the middle of the diamond to the edge on each side and got the same distance. I think what makes this diamond look unusual is that the point at the bottom does not line up with the indent at the top. I don''t think that is normal.
