It's such a bad pic I can't tell you much.

In terms of the steps being the same size-- sometimes a picture can make a step look thinner or thicker than it is. And that picture is a poor one for telling anything like that. Same with your second point.

GOG usually has great pics why is that one so bad?

Hi Gypsy,

Sorry, forgot to clarify that the image you see and the video is actually not from GOG. It's from another vendor which is selling me the emerald cut mentioned.

It looks like it has an eye-visible inclusion, not sure if that bothers you.

It seems to have one right? But upon eye view I can't see it so I'm pretty much okay if through normal inspection, it can't be seen.

Sorry about that. I think youtube converted it somehow to fit the screen. I'll send a link for a .mov file format. I think you would need at least Quicktime to play it.

Will post it once the link is ready.

Oh I'm hoping to decide today if this is THE ONE or not since the vendor would be going overseas to meet with her suppliers and might not be able to get it already. What you guys think?

I can't do the iLivid install on my work computer. It won't let me. I'm going to see if I can get Karl to help you, he's our step cut expert and the one I learned everything from. And he's great with computers, which I am not (especially my work one).

My Anti-virus software is blocking that link.

It looks like a bright stone and the crown looks fairly high which is a good thing.
Per the rules that is about all I can say.
What is the return policy if you don't like it in person?

Oh I see. thanks.

Sadly there's no return policy so after viewing it if you buy it, no return/exchange.

Based on the certificate, Table is just 56%, while depth is 70% which is not the usual norm for emerald cuts hence my apprehension to it. There's a very small culet which causes a dark thin line right at the middle when viewing at some angles.

O and I noticed that in the GIA cert and the actual girdle that there is a logo in it. it looks like a tiara. Vendor said that it probably is the company logo of the cutter. Would anyone be able know what company this would come from? Not much info though apart from it stating that it's from Antwerp, Belgium.

Have you seen it in person? Or did the vendor just send you the video. If you've already seen it in person and like it and the way the facets are arranged, where they meet, etc. appeal to you then it's a bright stone and you should go for it. But the video doesn't show us enough details to tell you if you would be happy with it IF you haven't seen it in person.

Yup I have seen it in person. That's actually my thumb on the video hehe. Well honestly I've seen better emerald cut diamonds in the GOG videos but I guess lighting plays a huge role in figuring out the fire/scintillation/brilliance factors. Overall I think it's a good stone that I think is bright. :)
