TIFFANY''S !!

Yesterday I was our in our Tiffany''s. I wanted to try on large diamonds, just to judge sizes.
DH was with me, so I thought the sales staff might be a little more open to working with me
and we were dressed nicely (!)

They escorted us to a private room and brought in 3 solitaire rings.

2 RB''s 3ct and 5ct.
the 5ct. was $204,000. !!!! gasp!

1 EC 5ct.

I had on my new 1.54 H ACA pendant. So I casually put the 5ct. up next to
my pendant and looked into the mirror. Even in a mirror I could see the difference.
The sales lady then asked me about my stone. I told her and then she said well
all Tiffany diamonds are ideal cuts by Tiffany standards. What standards????
My little stone really put their honker to shame. tee hee ! Maybe that particular diamond
wasn''t really up to their standards afterall. Actually the 3ct. performed better and to my eyes,
seemed to have more life than the other stones.

how fun. I can''t wait to get my ring so I can do the same thing (your stone and my stone are almost identica). The folks at my local Tiffany''s are always super nice and let me try on whatever I want but I can''t wait to take my little guy in there to see how he measures up. Tiffany''s really does have some cool keychains and other items that make great little gifts though..

How fun, Ann! You have patient hubby to go jewelry shopping! I do love Tiffany, but really and truly, we are getting better cut diamonds much of the time. You were smart to take hubby in to see the prices there, because a 3 ct. from somewhere like WF will seem like such a bargain in comparison!

It''s been a good B-Day, my 52nd, yikes ! Am I really that old !
I vegged all day, camped out with my laptop
then DH and I went to a super nice restaurant for a yummy dinner
great drinks, wine and lucious food.

My new Ebel watch and a little Kate Spade straw bag are my gifts.
And a silk black and white evening jacket - very nice.

I visited the Tiffany''s store in Bond Street, London, last September just for a browse. I was actually disappointed. They cut their diamonds rather deep for my liking and their diamonds look darker. Mind you, if I was presented with a Tiffany''s 3ct I wouldn''t say no
