Help finding a large aquamarine (maybe ~20ct) for a pendant

First off, this community has been so unbelievably helpful - this forum was my bible when it came to figuring out what to get for an engagement ring, so thank you so so much! (went with a 3ct round cut diamond solitaire "tulip" ring from LM, which the (now) fiance loved!)

So now I'm thinking I'll get her an aquamarine necklace to give to her the night before the wedding for her to wear on the big day. Our wedding color is light blue, so thinking more on the blue-ish side. She likes simple (just like the ring) - so thinking large center stone with maybe a diamond halo - thinking probably round, oval or pear shaped. Was planning to go back to LM to have the pendant made, but if I find the perfect necklace ready made, all the better.

I think these two are very cool too, although probably leaning more toward ones like the first few. White gold/platinum prob makes more sense for a wedding necklace, huh?

First, I was wondering if y'all could suggest some vendors -- saw the huge list in the sticky, but was wondering if there were a handful that were especially good for this kind of stone/necklace?

Also of course, if you have any other suggestions for the necklace (e.g. size, chain, etc,), I'm all ears.

How do you feel about blue topaz or zircon?

Doug Menadue posted a screaming 23ct round topaz (its on his facebook page), and it also looks like he has a variety of topaz rough available.

Chroman you read my mind! I immediately thought of Dana's aqua, lol. As an aside, the pear shaped pendant is my favorite of the ones you've posted... Elegant and stunning. And to me, the shape is quite romantic without going all the way to an actual heart cut.

That giant stone is awesome, but yeah I think a little too big. Love the color on that second one too - a little pricier than I was thinking, but that could actually work. I'm really struggling to gauge what's a fair price for each stone -- seems like so much depends on the specific color, and so hard to tell how good the color is from just a picture.

Not as crazy about blue topaz/zircon in general - i think they're just a little too intense for what I'm going for, but yes very pretty. Another reason I'm particularly set on aquamarine is she just bought these bracelets as gifts for all of her bridesmaids - http://www.tiffany.com/gifts/gifts-for-her/elsa-peretti-color-by-the-yard-bracelet-25224833 ..... Don't mind the extra cost.

Also just came across this picture (worn by CZJ at the 2001 Oscars) which may well be my new favorite.

Topaz can do ligher blues too, though I agree its not the predominate color on the market. It might be a less costly alternative to a large aqua though. Something like this:

I realize this shape wasn't in your list, but I'd be remiss if I didn't at least mention it. Emerald cuts are super elegant and pretty, especially when paired with a halo and oriented N-S. And Jerry's stuff is always great.

You may find many examples of Art Deco diamond chains with large aquamarine drops - many with briolettes like that one.

A 'Y' style chain with a drop is a favorite style, so I tend to recall superb examples...

LM has a 50ct aquamarine drop - not a briolette - I imagine you know of it. The workshop is up to the above-mentioned tasks.

Although he doesn't have any aquas listed at the moment, I'm sure he could custom cut something for you. I recently purchased a 5.23 carat aqua from him for a ring and I couldn't be happier with it! He does an amazing job.

Hey guys sorry I haven't replied in a while -- it's very funny you mention LM's 50 carat aquamarine. I actually went in last week and saw this stone for the second time and decided to pull the trigger on it!

He's surrounding it with graduated diamonds to make a pendant like in the CZJ necklace above. I'm still not sure what to do for the chain/necklace. Will definitely share a picture once it's ready - I'm very excited!
