I hadn't been planning for this upgrade exactly, but I had been eyeing this OEC on Grace's site for a looooong time, and finally when the price dropped, I took it as a sign that I should go for it, so I did! Sent my current BGD tapered Tiffany-style (sorry, I mean "classic style") 6-prong solitaire in for the stone and head to be replaced, and just got it back today! (My 1.48 ct AGS M will be consigned shortly, so look for that to go up if you're interested.)
Had a tiny bit of nervousness about the Q color, but I re-read DecoDaze's SMTB thread about her Q/R OEC multiple times, and I love that warmth. So relieved and happy I went for it, because this stone is *amazing*. I could drown in these facets, and no while I'm no cut expert, I don't see any light leakage -- these mains are *on*!
Grace's amazing photo:
And then some terrible photos from my old, soon-to-be-upgraded iPhone (with Photojojo macro lens that keeps falling off because I lost the metal sticker thingy that's supposed to keep the magnet in place):
Thank you to Grace for doing an amazing job, as usual. So patient and kind!
I'm already thinking of future settings for this baby . . . I love the current solitaire, but now I'm really wondering what Caysie could do with it . . .
