Any info on old ring is helpful

I purchased an old ring. A jeweler did verify the stone as a diamond. Other than that, I don't know much. The person I purchased it from said it came from France and that it was made of white gold. There is no markings on the ring that I can see. It does appear to be hand made because it is not semetrical. Any info would be great.

Can you take a picture of the front (face up) to see the diamond cut better? A little more light may help. What questions do you have?
