First post! OEC diamond and emerald art deco ring!

The majority of emerald/ sapphire/ ruby pieces that are art deco are snythetic. They were extremely popular during that time period. However, if you have a GIA report (not appraisal) then you are fine. Personally I wouldn't care if the emerald was treated or not as that ring is just drop dead gorgeous! I love the undercarriage!!!! You just don't see that type of style or craftmanship anymore!!!! Beautiful peice!

Thanks everybody! I've had it for quite a while now, but seeing that little pop of green sparkle never gets old! Glad you guys can appreciate it just as much as I do!

I was very wary when I found the ring about buying one that was synthetic because of its time period, as Andelain points out. I used to work for a jeweler so I feel pretty good about my gem spotting abilities, but I was searching on and off for years trying to find a natural one that was just right. It took ages!

What a gorgeous one of a kind ring. I love the phenomenal glow of the emerald and the vintage design with oecs. It would look amazing with any outfit too.

Thank you for compliments! I haven't been as active as I was before on PS but two years later I still wear my emerald it all the time (and it looks just as beautiful as it did on day one)! I ended up going with an antique cushion for my engagement ring (from Single Stone).
