jfo, so sorry to hear that L probably has HFM. A had it a few months ago and luckily didn't react too badly, but he gave it to my husband and he got blisters all over his calves, forearms, palms, and bottoms of his feet. He usually never takes time off work and he had to take a whole week off. He couldn't walk or even bend his fingers enough to type on a keyboard, so forget about going to work. I also didn't get anything more than a mild fever. I'm hoping that A wont get it again due to his lack of reaction last time. L probably doesn't want to eat much because she might have some sores in her throat so she doesn't want to swallow. Poor baby, hope she feels better soon and that she doesn't spread it to you or daddy!

Hi all! Well, we survived the party. It was a lot of fun but tons of work...I told DH that next year we are going to Chuck E Cheese or something easy. There were 30-35 adults plus 12 kids, so it was a pretty good size. B took an awesome nap that morning so he was in a good mood, which always helps. The cake smash wasn't much of a smash- he was very gentle. Funny that he's never gentle but with the cake he was. He would stick one finger in it, pull it out, and stick it in his mouth. He loved it though.

Then he woke up yesterday with his eyes goopy and puffy. I knew it wasn't pink eye because his eyes aren't pink, and he has something similar to this earlier this year. He has another (sigh) sinus infection. But the good news is the pedi wants him to get allergy testing since he is constantly congested. I've wanted him to get tested for a while but my allergist said they usually wait until they are 1. So he gets tested next week, which should be pretty awful, but hopefully we can get some treatment going. Oh, and he's 29lbs. OMG.

JGator, good memory- yep, the 8th. Happy early bday!

Also, he figured out how to climb on the ottoman and stand up on it. So that's fairly alarming. All of my pics are on my real camera, which is at home...I will post some tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Thanks, S&I! I'm glad that hear that A didn't have too bad of a reaction, but your poor husband! That's quite severe! I can't remember if I mentioned it before, but I did get HFM last summer when I was pregnant with L. I originally thought I had caught strep because my throat hurt so badly. Then the next day I developed blisters on my hands (palms and fingers) and the bottoms of my feet. It was miserable for a couple of days, but then got much better. I just remember being terrified of passing it on to the baby in utero, but my doctor assured me the baby would be fine.

Well, L's 9 month doctor's appointment was scheduled for today. I called this morning to let them know that HFM was going around her daycare and described her symptoms. They had me bring her in anyway. Her pediatrician said she couldn't be 100% certain it was HFM because her rashes were not "classic" HFM, but her red throat and at least one sore in her throat seemed to indicate it was. On top of that, the pediatrician discovered that L has yet another ear infection! :nono: That explains the crappy sleeping. Because she was taking antibiotics literally 2 weeks ago for a double ear infection and this one in her right ear is pretty bad, the doctor recommended an antibiotic shot. Poor baby. So we go back in a couple days to make sure the infection is getting significantly better and finish her actual 9 month appointment. But I did find out that she's 19lb 12oz and 29 1/2 inches long. I'm going to encourage DH to change to the convertible car seat.

amc, sounds like B had a great party! Share a photo or two if you get the chance. And, wow, what a big boy you have! I'm sorry that he has another sinus infection... hopefully they can get to the cause!

Oh jfo, I'm so sorry to hear L is unwell, poor bubba. And poor mummy! :(sad

amc, I'm glad the party went well for you, gosh it sounds like a stack of work thought, you are supermum!! I love that it was B's big chance to destroy a cake, and he was so gentle with it! Little monkies aren't they?! Sorry to hear about the sinus infection, poor little dude. And EEK about the climing thing, it makes my heart skip a beat thinking of when that time comes with O!

JGator, yep I chopped the spaghetti up pretty small, although O managed just fine with the longer strands, he would just chomp them up and anything that stuck out of his mouth fell into his lap. It was straight into the bath for him after that meal, I tell ya! And huge congratulations on your house, how exciting!! :appl: :appl:

Hello Kunzite, Dani, S&I, mp, bibi, mlk and anyone I've missed :wavey: Hope you're all well!

Oscar had his 8 month checkup yesterday. His height and weight have slowed down a bit, but his head circumference measurement has skyrocketed. He did have a fair pinhead as a newborn, so I think it's just filling out as it's always been really flat at the back too (actually it still is a bit). The nurse said that if at his 12 month appointment, the growth pattern has continued, we'll have to get a paed cranial specialist to check him out to make sure everything's OK. I'm sure his head is just catching up to the rest of him, so I'll be pretty anxious to see what his measurements have done in 4 month's time. He's 22.8lbs, and has grown 6cms since his 4 month check. He's a boof!

He seems to have taken a dislike to pureed food all of a sudden, so I'm now just feeding him what we are having, chopped up into weeny pieces. Last night he had lasagne with steamed broccoli and cauliflower, he loved it! I tried to give him chicken and veggie puree for lunch today, and he immediately covered his face with his hands and grizzled. As soon as I went to the fruit bowl and chopped up some banana for him, he was all smiles. Little devil.

He is really moving around in his cot a lot during the day, and used to get really upset when he went down for a nap, and got stuck on his belly. Now he just crashes and sleeps in whatever position he finds himself in. Doesn't do it at night, strangely enough... I put him on his back, and that's where he stays all night. Funny kid.

He started this nap in the bottom right corner of the cot, on his back :rodent:

AMC, B is so cute! Love his bow tie!!!

Dandi, K moves around in her crib a lot like Oscar. She doesn't roll from back to tummy yet though! Wow, 22 lbs. He is a big boy!!!

Jfo, so sorry to hear that L may have HFM. That's really scary. K and Lila are almost the exact same weight, but your daughter is 1.25 inches taller than K. You definitely need the convertible car seat now!

S&I, glad you like the City Mini! I may post a thread with pictures of the new house. It's a big house that is 24 years old so I think we'll have lots of projects. One of the first projects is paint which I need some advice on colors. One of the possible baby rooms has flowered wall paper which I do not like. There is another possible baby room with a flower wallpaper border near the ceiling. And, the front entry has a 2-story foyer with white subtle striped wall paper which also runs throughout the hallway upstairs by the bedrooms. I think all of the wall paper has to go! We also have a salmon colored sun room that I'm thinking would look nice in a yellow.

MP, how is Ev doing? Any new developments?

AFU, the cloth diaper cover at night is working great. K is starting to show some signs of possibly crawling. She puts both hands on the floor in front of her, and she still sits up and scoots around as her preferred mode of transportation! I still can't see the tooth the doctor saw coming in, but it's not that easy to get K to open her mouth and the tooth is on the side.

Well, the sick kid is still a sick kid, and the sick mama is still a sick mama :( We both started antibiotics on Monday. I still feel pretty awful, as does he. Yesterday he was super cranky and up off and on all night. This morning he had a 101.6 fever. It went down after taking tylenol but was back up to 102.5 a few hours later. I just hate seeing him so miserable. The good news (for him) is we will be delaying the shots he was supposed to be getting tomorrow. So much for a fun birthday!

JGator- happy birthday!!

HEY MAMAAAAAAS!!!!

It's been so long since I've been on PS, I can't believe how all your babes have grown!

I spilled an entire glass of water on my MacAir back in March (and I had just bought it in December, sad face) and I was so upset with myself that I couldn't even deal with fixing it until this week. So, I've had limited computer access since then.

Anyway, I just wanted to say HELLO!! and tell you that your babes are all so gorgeous. I totally just went back several pages to peek at all the pictures.

All is great here. B is seven and a half months old, which is crazy. He's so much fun. I took a parental leave for the upcoming academic year because I'm not ready to leave him yet. Many of you gave me wise advice that helped me with this decision. Thank you for that.

I don't even remember when I last signed on, but here's a current picture of my boy.

Hi ladies!

Dandi, ha, it looks like Oscar is taking full advantage of his crib! Isn't it funny when they start moving around so much in their sleep? That is interesting how he doesn't seem to do it at night though... Sounds like he's doing great and eating well. I bet you're probably right about his head catching up with the rest of him.

amc, love your photos of B at his party. His outfit and the cake are outstanding! I'm so sorry to hear that you both are sick. Hope the antibiotics kick in soon and you both feel better asap. And happy birthday to Barrett!

MP, how was your weekend out of town?

JGator, glad that youv'e found a solution for leaky diapers! It definitely sounds like K is getting familiar with the positions she'll need to use to crawl. Does she get pretty far using her scoot method now? Yes, the convertible seat swap out will happen this weekend. Happy birthday! Are you doing anything fun to celebrate?

Haven, welcome back! B looks like he's thriving! What a cutie patootie! That's fantastic to hear that you're taking extra time off to spend with him. What's he been up to lately?

Freke, cool! I will check it out.

AFU, I took L back to her pediatrician this morning to get her ear checked after the antibiotic shot on Monday. Unfortunately, her ear didn't look much better, so she got another antibiotic shot AND her final Hep B vaccination. Her throat is still red with apparently multiple white spots. She also still has a rash on her knees, back of legs, bottom, and now some on her upper chest. ;( I just feel horrible for her. The doctor said that if her ear infection doesn't get cleared up after this, then she'll have to refer us to an ENT doctor. I'm crossing my fingers that this infection will really get much better after this second shot...

The good thing is that despite all this, she's not running any fever and she's staying pretty cheerful and probably overall feels better than she did on Sunday/Monday. She's crawling a little bit, but only will go 3-4 feet max away from wherever she was originally sitting. I think she's still really more interested in standing/pulling up to stand for now.'

Here's a pic from her last week before all this silly sickness has gone down.

Haven, welcome back. B is even cuter than last time you posted!!! Beautiful smile and eyes!

Jfo, I'm sorry to hear Lila has been sick for so long. I really hope she doesn't end up needing tubes in her ears. I have had life long ear issues including tubes about 7 times as a child and a couple times as an adult. Thanks for the birthday wishes. We closed on the house and had dinner out at a Korean BBQ place with K afterwards. K and Korean BBQ with the grill on the table - maybe not such a good combination! Her seat was far enough away, but I was paranoid the whole time that she would lunge for the grill. Love L's smile in the picture!

AMC, thanks for the birthday wishes and Happy Birthday to B today!

AFU, we took K to see her new house yesterday for the first time. She wasn't that excited. We put her on the floor in the hallway between the 2 rooms we are deciding on for her and she lunged one way so maybe she'll get that room. The house closing was uneventful, but it was exciting to finally get the keys. We have a couple more days of packing and then we move in on Monday. Wish us luck!

JGator, thanks so much. I really hope she doesn't need tubes either. I'm sorry to hear that you've had so many ear issues in your life--that sounds pretty miserable! Mmm, Korean bbq sounds great. I can see how having the grill on the table can make you nervous though--the first thing that we do when we sit down at a restaurant is clear Lila's part of the table so she isn't taking down everything within reach!

Glad that the house closing went smoothly and you're just now getting set to move. I haven't decided which room will be L's room yet at the new place--maybe we'll do the same thing--put her on the floor and have her determine which one! :wink2: Anyway, good luck with everything! I'll be following the house thread, so will be interested in how your house updates go.

AFU, L seems to be feeling better. She finally STTN last night in her crib with no wake-ups until 5:30am. Whew. I'm hoping that's a sign that her ear is getting better. I'm not sure how much longer her throat will be sore for, but I'll be happy when she can eat normally again.

That reminds me--JGator, is K still refusing the bottle except for first thing in the morning and before bed? L will drink 5oz first thing in the morning and 6oz before going to bed at night, but pretty much is now drinking 2-3 oz per bottle at most during the day and it's a struggle to get her to drink that. I'm pretty sure that a few days ago it was because of her sore throat, but now I'm beginning to wonder if it's something else too?

Hi, Jfo, K refuses the bottle except for bedtime and middle of the night wake-ups. The nanny is better than we are at getting her to take it eventually during the day. It is a struggle though - she only gets her to take it from her bouncy seat. She refuses to be held while drinking her bottle if it's not bedtime or the middle of the night. I hope you are not getting a picky bottle feeder! The doctor said we only have to worry about how much she drinks until she's 12 months when we can just count servings of dairy which will include cheese. So, 2.5 more months of this! I hope L is on the mend. Glad to hear she slept a little longer for you. K has been waking up consistently at 530/545 for a few days in a row now. We are happy with that as she goes back to bed after a bottle until 7 or 730am.

Dandi, O is so darn cute! I love his flannel lined jeans and shoes! Happy 8 months to him!

Dani, hi! :wavey: Thanks so much!

JGator, thanks for sharing about K's bottle habits. How much formula is she getting a day? I'm thinking that L is becoming a pickier bottle feeder. We had more luck this weekend getting her to drink her bottles during the day, but a lot of that seems to be because of my husband. He can somehow get her to drink them while she won't with me. I'm not sure why. So, she's getting maybe 20 oz of formula during the day on a good day (she used to eat 30oz regularly along with solid food, but she is eating a lot more solids these days). I'm thinking about maybe starting to switch her to a cup with a straw during the day and seeing how she likes it. She still hates the three different types of sippy cups I've tried so far. I'm glad to hear that K is going back to sleep after an early morning wake up. I wish I could get L to do that these days...

AFU, we had a good weekend and L seems to overall be feeling a lot better and is back to being an overall happy baby. We've skipped all her swimming classes so far though because I'm afraid of doing anything to delay the healing of her ear infection. The only thing is that last night we had the hardest time getting her to go down at bedtime (which again, has only happened when her ear was a problem). On the third try, my husband rocked her to sleep, and it was about 2 hours after her normal bedtime. But then she slept through the night until 6am and was happy when she woke up, so I'm hoping it was just a fluke! Also, she refuses her pacifiers still, so that might be part of it too. She used to be calmed really quickly and go to sleep with a pacifier. Since she was sick last week, she didn't want a pacifier and even though I know she's better, she still is refusing the pacifier. Maybe that's a good thing in the long run in that I won't have to wean her off that?

Hi everyone! We've been MIA for a while now.. I wrote a few posts and saved them as drafts to finish later and i have no idea where to even find those now lol Anyways.. Chase is 9.5 months now! Crazy how fast time goes. We are doing the BLW and he loves it. He is an amazing little eater.. his favorite meals are chicken alfredo, chicken parm, anything with chicken really.. He loves fruit too! Mangos and peaches are a favorite :) We finally finished with physical therapy for his plagiocephly and torticollis... That was a relief! about 5 months of PT! Chase started army crawling at 6 months and continues to everywhere and get into everything.. he started to pull up on everything as well... On July 15th he broke his leg :( I immediately took him to the ER because he had hit his head too and I was worried about it, and they just had us sit there for an hour and sent us home. All week he refused to put any weight on his left leg and i had asked his PT about it and she said if it wasnt better by a week to bring him to his pediatrician. I took him on Tuesday so 8 days after and he said there would be a 2% chance it was broken because he wasnt crying, there was no bruise, swelling.. nothing leading him to believe it was broken and he would be surprised if it was.. but sent us for xrays anyways.. I immediately went and got them done just to get this whole ordeal over with and of course they did a wet read and it was broken :( I thought him having surgery was hard but now having a cast at 9 months old broke my heart... I was so upset... We took it off last night so he is getting used to not having it anymore so he isnt putting a ton of weight on it but hopefully everything should be fine. We are back in FL right now too. Other than that.. we'e just been having fun together everyday. I feel so blessed to be able to spend every day with him. Its fun to watch him grow up and learn all of these new things. He is obsessed with the Baby Einstein Neptune dvd and he gets to watch it during afternoon snack. He is a pretty good sleeper for the most part.. goes to bed 730-830pm and gets up anywhere from 8-10am... boy loves his sleep.. and depending when he gets up and how long he is up might take a 2hr nap in the early afternoon and a 30-45min late afternoon nap..He loves to mimic us as well.. his favorite thing is to have screaming matches.. he thinks its fun to squeal as loud as possible and i love it it makes me giggle its so funny haha :) Oh and since we live so close to NYC i have been taking Chase in to NYC for casting. I took him in for a Carters one and he got cast as a secondary and he actually ended up getting to shoot, so im hoping they use his pictures :) Im still pumping.. and still donating. I was up to like 70oz a day at 3ppd.. and i just dropped to 2ppd because Chase is just a handful and I needed to be able get more done. Im still at about 50oz per day right now.. so still plenty for him as now he only eats like 24ishoz a day usually less though. We've been planning his first birthday which we are having in FL and its going to be quite a bday party lol My inlaws are helping with expenses because my MIL wanted to have it at a certain place so I just said okay whatever... im excited though! :) Hope everyone is doing well! Oh and Chase got his first 2 teeth at like 7 months and they are almost FINALLY all the way thru.. seriously 2 months to get the tooth all the way up is kind of crazy right? I think he is getting his upper left front tooth and maybe his bottom tooth too.. Hard to tell now he has a super high pain tolerance apparently... They keep telling us we are really going to have to pay attention to his and his pain and what he gets into and does because he might hurt himself again and we wont know since he doesnt seem bothered by it.. YIKES!

Jfo, love that picture of your little girl in her dress. She's sure a cutie. I kind of agree with you that it might not be a bad thing that she is rejecting the pacifier (even though it helped her fall asleep faster). Ev is definitely addicted to his pacis. I don't like that fact, but I also don't think we could take him out in public very often without a pacifier because he is SO loud and chatty in restaurants and church :)

Dandi, I hear you. Ev will be 10 months in a couple of days, and it boggles my mind. I'm sad he won't be a baby too much longer, but I'm more excited for all that is in store. And I think you'll find that the next couple of months will be so much fun.

JGator, congrats on the new house. I saw your pics in the other thread. Sounds like things are going a bit better with K, which is great!

amc, I hope B is feeling better. I guess we'll have to watch the other thread for your updates. Two more months and I'll be joining you over there!

Haven! Hi lady, good to see you update. B is cute as ever. And lucky you, that's awesome you are able to stay home with him longer.

BB, long time no see. That's so awful that your poor little guy broke his leg, but at least he didn't seem too bothered by it. Did he fall off something? Our little guy fell off a pretty high bed onto pretty hard floor at a hotel recently (ironically while DH and I were setting up his pack n play)and got a good bonk on his head. We freaked out, but Ev cried for maybe 10 seconds and was no worse for the wear thank goodness. These little guys are so resilient.

AFM, I've been out of town a lot lately, so I haven't updated much, but there's nothing too exciting to report. My little buddy is doing well. He can finally crawl (albeit very tentatively), but he still prefers to roll :) And my goodness, he can roll across a room at lightning speed now. We're still experimenting with table foods, and he is becoming a bit more open to the idea, despite the hilariously outraged look he gets on his face every time I give him something new.

I will still check in here :) B is better, thank you. He got an antibiotic shot on Thursday (his bday, poor kid) and his fever finally broke on Friday. He was totally fine until Saturday/Sunday when he got a rash over his entire body. The doc said he can't really tell if it's the antibiotic or just a rash caused by the initial virus that caused the sickness and the sinus infection. Either way, we are being cautious and treating it like a reaction to the antibiotic. Poor kiddo. On the plus side, either the meds or being sick and not sleeping last week meant he took great naps this weekend. :) Always a silver lining.

BB, thanks for checking in! I love the photos of Chase. He is so expressive and has such beautiful blue eyes! It sounds like you all have been busy and I am so sorry to hear that Chase broke his leg. That must have been a not very fun ordeal, but that's great that the cast is off now and he's doing well. I'll keep my eye out for him in future Carter's ads.

amc, I'm glad that you will check back here periodically. It seems like several of us will be joining you over in the other thread soon enough though! I hope that B is fully recovered now from both his illness and the rash. Those antibiotic shots are no fun and possibly having a reaction to it is even worse!

MP, good to hear from you! Hee hee, yeah, the pacifier has definitely come in handy when we've needed L to chill out while in public. Ah well, I guess we'll just adapt. It sounds like Ev is doing well! Glad to hear that he's figured out how to get around a couple of ways (crawling and rolling) and that he's eating table foods better these days.

JGator, hope your move is going well today!

AFU, L seems to be fully recovered and STTN last night from 7:45pm to 6am. She has gotten more confident with her crawling and is now moving quicker and going further distances. She does a funny thing where she tries to use her left foot to push off instead of her knee though so she looks a little bit like she has a peg leg when she's crawling, but I guess it doesn't matter as long as she gets to where she needs to go? She also can very easily pull herself up to stand now in her crib, on our coffee table, the couch... so very quickly we're having to move stuff away from her reach. Meanwhile, we're starting to pack more and our place is becoming pretty cluttered quickly!

Dandi, happy 8 month birthday to O. He always looks so happy and adorable.

Jfo, K is drinking 8-12 oz of bottle formula/breast milk during the day. She also will get a couple ounces in her oatmeal. And, she has almost 8 ounces before bedtime and then usually a 6 ounce bottle in the middle of the night. So, that's a total of 24-28 ounces per day. Seems low - what is Lila's typical total intake in a day since they are about the same weight and almost the same age? Of course, Lila is actually getting a lot more exercise since she can crawl so she should be eating more calories. K does fight me on the bed time bottle too - it takes me about 40-60 mins to get her to drink the 8 oz with her breaks. The only bottle that she does not fight me on is the middle of the night one which lately has been 545am - last night was our first night in the new house and she was clearly confused. She spent the time I fed her the bedtime bottle looking all over the room - mainly at the window behind the chair I was feeding her in. She woke up 4 times last night including 2 3-4 ounce bottle sessions at 430 and 630am! One of the times she woke up it was because I used the bathroom in our room which is right next to her bedroom and the toilet flushing woke her up. I think she has gotten used to it though as she didn't wake up tonight when I used the bathroom. I wonder if the pacifier sucking motion is hurting Lila's ears? I know they say to give babies the pacifiers to help open their ears on airplanes so there may be a connection there. Good luck packing!

BlondeBunny, great to see you back with great updated pictures of Chase. He has such beautiful eyes - no wonder he is a model! I'm so sorry he broke his leg, but I'm glad to hear he is on the mend. Your supply is amazing. I am pumping 3 times a day now and getting about 4 ounces total per day so I am totally jealous of how much you can pump!

MP, that's great that Ev has started crawling and is still a fast roller. K does not roll very well which kind of concerns me. She only rolls from tummy to back. She's getting a little more mobile with her scooting though. What kinds of table foods have you introduced to Ev? We need to get on that - we are still doing 2 purees and one oatmeal cereal a day even though the doctor told us to start giving her what we eat. She has a few cheerios here and there too. She really likes cheerios.

AMC, glad B is feeling better and had some great naps! How is the new classroom going at daycare?

AFU, we moved yesterday. We had over 100 boxes. I unpacked about 25 of the kitchen boxes yesterday, but we still have a long way to go. My mom is coming for about a week on Friday and then my husband's parents are coming for 2 weeks at the end of the month so they should be able to watch K and give us some time to get the house organized. K seems to like the new place, but she definitely was out of sorts her first night sleeping in her new room. I am hoping tonight is better. Oh, and did I mention our new house smells like a dog in our master bedroom and our family room? The previous owners had a "retired service dog" which I think looked like a black lab. Any suggestions? We got the carpets professionally cleaned and that didn't help. We are now on to about 6 different canisters of air fresheners and multiple daily Febreeze runs. I have jars of vinegar out as well as that's supposed to do something!

Jfo, ha, Ev has an unconventional crawl too. DH said he crawls like a dog that is half paralyzed :) I think that's why he resorts to rolling after a few feet. I'm sure they both just need a little work on their coordination. So glad to hear she is finally feeling better and sleeping through the night. I'm sure that makes you all much happier! Good luck with your packing and moving.

JGator, I don't think you should worry too much about the lack of rolling/crawling because it sounds like she is making progress. That's what I try to keep telling myself. I think some babies (like Ev and K) are just naturally more content to be in one place and play with the things in arms reach, whereas as other babies feel a need to get up and move. Ev seems to have had a really big leap in his physical abilities in the past two weeks. It seems like he all of a sudden got a lot stronger and more coordinated. I have a theory that it coincided with him starting to sleep on his tummy (with his butt in the air). He used to always sleep on his side, but once he started sleeping on his tummy, he seemed to develop other skills. As far as table foods, we're still just getting started. I try to give him a little bit of what I'm eating when I can; however, we tend to eat a lot of things that don't seem very baby friendly, such as salads or rice with grilled meat. But he loves little pieces of bread and cheese. He also likes avocado broken into little pieces. I've been feeding him pureed turkey and chicken meals from Earths Best, and he is coming around to the idea. He also eats pureed fruits/veggies/grains at daycare. His favorite food by far is puffs. He's like a bottomless pit when it comes to those, but I don't feel like I should be giving him that many, you know?

One more thing. JGator, you were asking about formula consumption. At nine months, Ev was 19 lbs and 30 inches, so about the same size as your and Jfo's little ones. Anyway, Ev seems to be drinking a lot of formula still. On average, I would say he has about 36-40 ounces of formula a day. That seems like a lot to me, and I think we probably need to figure out a way to get him eating more and drinking less. He still only drinks out of a bottle too. He will have sips here and there of water out of his sippy cup, but he seems to think sippy cups are for throwing. No bueno.

B was drinking about that same amount at 9 months, plus several containers of baby food a day. As for the sippy, B's reaction was the same- they were fun to throw. I ended up trying a different brand and it worked much better, so maybe try that?

JGator, for the past couple of weeks, L was drinking maybe 16-20 oz/day, but just in the last couple days, she's started drinking her bottles well again, and now is averaging between 22-26 oz a day, which I think is more normal given that our LO's are eating more solids these days. I'm sorry to hear that K has been fussy drinking her bedtime bottle and has been waking up more at night recently. I bet you're right that she really has noticed how she's in a new place and it's thrown her off a bit. Hopefully she's getting used it. I'm sure we'll go through the same thing and it'll take a few days for L to become accustomed to her new room and just the house. I think that at this age, they really are much more aware of differences from their usual surroundings and routines. I hope the unpacking is going all right! Oh, and yes, I definitely think that sucking on a pacifier was probably really uncomfortable for L's ears. I'm not sure why she doesn't want to take it now though.

MP, Ev's formula consumption will probably start to decrease over time as he learns to eat more solids, but he's also a boy so I wonder if he needs more calories overall and may always drink more than the gals? It sounds like he's really starting to get the hang of some table foods. I've given L small pieces of scrambled eggs, blueberries, bananas, avocado, cheese and she's done well with all of it, but I hear you--she loves puffs (and yogurt melts), and I feel like I want to give those to her sparingly because they're not "real" food. Oh, and my mom convinced me to buy her teething biscuits (which I guess are basically cookies) because she's gnawing on everything and I imagine she has more teeth that will come in anytime, although I can't see them. I gave her one a few weeks back and she loved it. Loved it so much that when it starting getting really messy and my husband asked her for it and she made the motion to give it to him--but didn't actually let go--and he took it from her, she totally lost it! Full-on tantrum! Honestly, I haven't tried giving another one to her yet... Ha ha, a half-paralyzed dog! That's hilarious. Yes, I agree--I think that they both just need to work on their coordination.

 I wonder what it is about sippy cups that makes our babies want to throw them. We've had no luck with several types so far. The moment I put one on her high chair tray, she picks it up and drops it on the floor. If I tip it for her to suck on, she will chew on it and say "ya ya ya ya" and then grab it and chuck it on the floor. I just got a new one yesterday that we'll try later today that has a soft straw instead of a spout and see how that goes. I'll let you all know!
