I REALLY want diamond studs. I want them to be at least .5 each. I don't care that much about clarity (I'm fine with SI1 or SI2) as long as the color and cut are good and mask any imperfections. I am more interesting in how much they sparkle and getting decent lobe coverage. However, I really have no idea how to tell JUST from looking at specs. which diamonds would be good. I don't really want to spend more than 2500 on the diamonds and earrings to put them in. I just want simple claw prong studs. Would any of these be good matches?

Sometimes I just wonder if I should try a pawn shop or something since I am more interested in how they look to the eye than what their stats are! Anyways some guidance on what to look for would be helpful! Thanks:)

If you care more about size (which is fine as I'm a size whore myself as we say on PS) then I would probably go with IDJ and let them pick you out something. Someone else got 3ctw (I believe or something similar ) studs that are I1's and she was thrilled with them. I would probably shoot LuAnn over an email with your budget and basically tell her exactly what you want and let her search for you.

If you are looking for ease in finding a matched pair, you could contact BGD or WF and purchase a matched set thru them and set in simple stud settings. They have online help and very good "chat" so your SA would be able to find you something well matched, well cut and within your budget.

Just an idea... :))

Okay thanks! So as long as all of these places are equally reputable I would want to go with whoever can get me the most bang for my buck. Thanks for the input! I appreciate it! :D

As E stated I would contact them all with your budget and exactly what you want. Whoever comes back with a pair that gives you the most bang for your buck is the winner! :appl:

I ordered a pair of studs from IDJ on Friday. They should be here tomorrow afternoon. I am excited! They are both .51 ct, and I1, and GIA triple xxx, however one is E and one is F. I hope this isn't a huge difference. I was a little nervous about getting I1 diamonds but I feel like for earrings it should be fine. My e-ring is only an SI2 and looks great (i am guessing bc it is well cut?). Anyways I will post pictures when I get them! I can't believe how responsive and quick IDJ was!
