This ring is so gorgeous I just had to share (with my friend's permission of course.) It is inspired by a Cathy Waterman design, some of you may recall Anna Paquin's rose cut engagement ring, which was a Waterman original. This ring has a 1 ct rose cut diamond bezel set in platinum, with tiny rose cut melee in the leaves, created by a local jeweler. Simply divine!! I hope you'll enjoy the photos!

Long story short, I taught him what I could and the resulting ring is HIS vision. It's more beautiful and more 'me' than anything I could have chosen myself. It's a 1.43 L VS2 August Vintage Cushion from Good Old Gold, and the setting was custom made in platinum by Brian Gavin Diamonds. A big thank you to both these outstanding vendors for helping create the ring of my dreams!

We're so happy and excited! I feel truly lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life with the most wonderful man, my perfect match.

I thought I'd post these while I'm waiting for my ER. I bought them for my birthday last year after I saw them posted here. Thanks to ilovethiswebsite and lizzyann for the inspiration! I love that these are "different" than the classic stud, yet versatile enough to wear every day. The price was great, too.

Here are the old threads for reference:

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-bgd-preset-studs.136534/

Stats: 0.50 tcw G-H SI melee (not BGD signature melee). The center stones are 15 points each and the halo stones are 1 point each IIRC. Pendant stone is 38 points for comparison.

I lost my 1.61 carat round back in 2003, when I was newly pregnant with #3 and suffering from pregnancy brain. I never replaced it until now. After years of drooling over the Crafted By Infinity ideal cuts, I'm the proud owner of a .67 carat, I color SI1 clarity diamond set into a Vatche "Grace" halo. I know it's no where near as big as some of the incredible diamonds we all like to drool over here, but it's mine and I love it. I wanted something low set so that I can wear it comfortably every day, and this fits the bill perfectly. Finger size is 6.75, and the ring is between a 6.75 and a 7 since my fingers swell in the summer.

Anyway, I finally have something to show off! One of the members here bought a hand engraved wedding band from Aurell and I was in love! (Sorry but I forgot who it was exactly!) However, it was way too thick for me and I knew it wouldn't match my engagement ring. So, I contacted Sam at Aurell and described what I was looking for. Well, it paid off! His work is absolutely beautiful (and for a good price too! )

Here are some pics with my engagement ring! (My diamond is in DESPERATE need of a cleaning I swear it's much prettier in real life)

Hello All,

My ring is here. Thanks to everyone on pricescope who gave me advice on the diamond. I ended up with a perfect ring. I was told that it is obligatory to post pictures, so here they are. It came this morning just barely in time to prevent a nervous breakdown I would have had waiting for it.

The diamond is amazing. I have been staring at it all day, and in the sunlight, it looks like a rainbow. Inside, it is a really really bright white. I have never seen anything this beautiful, and everyone I have shown it to has said the same thing. My fiance is even in love with it, and that says something.

Specs: 0.91 F VS2 GIA excellent cut from James Allen. The setting is a tacori setting, and I sent it to solomon brothers to have it made.

Now to pictures. My photography skills leave something to be desired, and these do not do justice to the ring. I took a lot of these in the moving car, since we were out all day. And I haven't had a chance to to take flower pictures. I'll post those tomorrow.

In honour of my beautiful baby daughter I received this pink sapphire and diamond bezel band from BGD. It is perfect, delicate and pink -just like my baby girl! A big thanks to Denise at BGD who responded promptly to all my questions and changing ideas.

Here are the glamour shots from BGD - the pink sapphires have been colour corrected and are softer in real life.

I found James Meyer here on PriceScope after google imaging "bezel setting engagement ring" to show examples to my boyfriend. We had been dating 5 years-- I felt I had earned the right to provide some guidance. I knew immediately that I wanted James Meyer to make my ring. My boyfriend and I made the trip from New York City to Williamsport, PA to visit James. We could not have had a better time. We played with his dogs, learned a lot about diamonds, and even met his lovely wife, Anne. I had an idea of what I would be getting, but I could never have imagined a ring as beautiful as the one I received the night we got engaged. It's a 1.32 carat cushion cut diamond in platinum with yellow gold wraps. James thinks the stone is from the 1880's. I'm happy I have it in 2011! I get compliments on the ring constantly. It is absolutely beautiful.

Never thought I'd have this kind of update! I started on the list at #113 last June and here I am signing off at #20! I'm engaged!!

At any rate, this was a total surprise that I NEVER expected and I thought that was great. Turns out he found my inspiration pics (legato sleek line but a little sturdier) on my computer and did a ton of research on his own for something that he knew I would like and that he liked as well. I love my ring. It's a RB .71 F SI2 (all I can see is bright white--totally eye clean to me!) Here it is!!

Setting:
My fiancé liked the HW cushion halo design, so I started researching the usual pave masters that are highly regarded on Pricescope. At that time, Leon Mege had the most buzz so I contacted him initially.
However, living in Orange County, CA, I did not want the hassle of shipping the diamond back and forth to NY. (Especially every time a melee fell off). After some research, I found that Victor Canera was in LA so I set up a time to visit his office and see his work.

Victor was extremely pleasant and after seeing first hand some of Pricescoper’s rings that were in development, I knew I could trust him. I was also fascinated with his hand forging technique. Being in the dental field and having had the experience of casting gold crowns during dental school, I was very familiar with the inherent difficulties with casting. He was also very accommodating to little details and requests and VERY PROMPT with his email responses.

The engagement ring was made from 11 individual pieces of platinum with 0.73ct of single cut melee. I was going back and forth between full cut and single cut, so Victor had samples of both (loose melee diamonds) ready for me to evaluate. The full cut diamonds looked nice, but at that size, their flashes were small tiny dots. Whereas the single cut diamonds gave off larger, broader flashes. Victor thought the single cuts would match the AVC better so I finally decided to go with them.

The eternity wedding band is 1.8mm in diameter with 0.43ct of single cut diamonds. I also had Victor make my 6mm width wedding band in platinum.

Here is the link to the LIW story and a few pictures (including the wooden ring he whittled me on our camping trip that he proposed with).

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/signing-off-at-17.164135/

Specs on the ring: Circa 1930’s fishtale prong setting with a 1.64 H VVS1 RB diamond size 4

The stone isn’t 100% ideal cut, it’s a bit shallow (so faces up larger) but displays arrows and sparkles like crazy! I wasn’t a RB fan and really wanted a OEC/OMC but when I saw this ring my heart skipped a beat. I still love older stones (my earrings are OECs and I have an OEC/OMC snowflake pendant) so I’m happy to have a variety.

I won the following pendant on Ebay. The seller stated the diamond was an 1.85ct OEC J VS2... My e-ring is a GIA J, and it was obvious to me that the pendant diamond was a lot warmer than a J. But the pendant was still pretty, so after a small partial refund, I decided to keep it... Here are some pics of the pendant before... More to come with the reset!

Hello all,

It is finally complete!

After spending the last several months learning about about color, clarity, size, weight, and the hundred other aspects of buying a diamond - my girlfriend's engagement ring is complete. It was confusing and a little nerve wracking at times but with the help of PriceScope and Traci over at Whiteflash I think everything has turned out pretty well. These are just the shots of the ring from Whiteflash, I'll post more pictures in person when the ring shows up next week. I really hope it looks nice in person

Specs:

Emerald Cut Diamond
Weight: 0.91 Carat
Clarity: VS1
Color: F
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good

Setting: Legato Sleek Line Pave from Whiteflash.com
