Hi again everyone....so lately i have been feeling like i take a few steps forward and about 12 back
emcrook.gif

I have been in talks with GOG and since i am going with the Vatche Princess setting, they said that i might be better off getting something G+ to match the side stones that would most likely be a G.... http://shop.goodoldgold.com/index.cfm/a/catalog.prodshow/vid/36784/catid/229

They suggested this stone and said even though its an SI2 that it is ''Eye Clean''
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6510/

So Pros and Cons - In my eye

Pros:
D is awesome
Nice Optics
Price

Cons
SI2 ''It''s Eye Clean''....but ''mind clean'' is killing me
Not AGS graded....which i really prefer AGS0 so i know the cut is perfect

I swear i am too picky for this process and it''s driving me nuts....i really appreciate everyones input and patience with me. What do you guys think?

-Dave
I don''t like the SI2 personally, and D is overkill for color. Seems like GOG just doesn''t have something that is completely suitable at this time. Princess cuts do show more color, but usually within 2 color grades is fine. But to be safe you probably want H at the lowest.

I like this one from BGD. If you like it, reserve it NOW, someone will snap it up. BGD can probably access vatche for you, or can make a custom setting that is similar:

Thats what i am thinking....i just need to wait for something to come along....Thanks

Roxie -
I went to ID and they only have 5 AGS stones but they are not in my range....thanks though...i at least have another place to keep an eye on!!

What does it mean when the comments on the lab reports say
"Grain Centers are not shown" Or anything that says not shown in the comments section?

I know that many people regard D as overkill often, and not worth the money, especially since this colour-range often carries a hefty premium.

In a fancy shape however, combined with SI2 as is the case here, D hardly represents a big premium. To go about 10% cheaper, one needs to go to G already.

Live long,

That one from WF is really nice.

But in light of what Paul said I am personally rethinking the DSI2 from GOG. It is 2k less for higher color and if it is really eye clean, then it is a steal. For the 2k savings you could get a designer setting or a killer wedding band. The inclusions really look like the "best" possible kind. I would call ask ask about what level of scrutiny those inclusions will stand up to. Some SI2 inclusions you cannot see even at close inspection in dull diffuse lighting. If those inclusions are that type, then I would really consider it for the savings. It would be worth it to me to have the diamond shipped to me to see in person prior to setting to make sure the inclusions were tolerable to me. The cost to you is return shipping if it doesn''t stack up with a potential savings of 2 large.

Ok update time!!!! So after all is said and done i guess i over reacted in the beginning with the title (sorry i cant edit) but i have realized that without this place i would still probably be stuck feeling overwhelmed!! Big thank you to all that helped and gave advice/suggestions. I have learned so much (mostly princess cuts) regarding the 4 C''s and even further into grading etc. It has been overall good expirence and i cant wait for the finished product!

Here is what i decided with and be honest and tell me what you think?? Cant wait to see it all put together!!

Looks good.

Who are you buying the setting from? In case you do not know, WF is a Vatche dealer too, so they can get that setting for you.
